Of course let’s choose the 4 largest oil and gas super entities on earth with hundreds of thousands of employees. They can weather any storm. What about the 10 000 small exploration, drilling, and oil services support companies that have struggled to survive the last two years? It’s supply and demand.

I’d like to see what happened if this thread was spliced together with the “So what have you done to your Tacoma lately?” thread. Guys complaining about gas prices vs. guys throwing thousands of dollars into their Tacoma’s.

By the way if you can afford to put money into your Tacoma that’s great; and I wish all the guys struggling with the price of gas the best as well.

I mean, it's pretty easy to see their earnings statements. Feel free to post ones of smaller oil companies, but small businesses start up and die by the thousands every year. Them's the breaks.

every time there's a dip in the economy "oil companies" declare bankruptcy. 142 oil companies declared bankruptcy in 2016 as well. its usually drilling and exploration companies, not the major producers and refineries. and its usually Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is not the same as, say personal bankruptcy. These oil companies have all of their assets and holding companies and their red tape bureaucracy so convoluted that no lay person could ever make sense of it. Their exec's are pulling in 100s of millions of dollars in salaries and bonuses, while price gouging the average citizen who is having to choose between which utilities and groceries to cut back on. you may be, but I'm not buying their bullshit. I barely want to buy their product.

Amazing how so many will run to those vehicles due to this. Almost like it was planned.

Just like automakers, airlines, etc, etc, etc. Massive salaries for execs, massive bonuses...huge profits and they can't survive more than a month of no business without declaring bankruptcy? Grossly mismanaged and they should let them go under and let someone buy them out and take over instead of bailing them out with our tax money.

I'm guessing higher gas prices are like a regressive tax on the gas attendants. The higher the price of gas the less people will tip?
