I was told that they come together if you want the premium. That you cannot have the premium package without the advanced technology.

It’s just speculation, but there is immense pressure for them to get closer to the 25+ the other manufacturers are getting. The pressure only gets greater with gas being higher. The ford maverick hybrid i believe is pulling 40MPGs on the highway, almost double the taco. Yeah it’s not a taco but it’s close enough to a truck most tacoma owners need. Competition is heating up in the small truck segment.

I am just afraid of how long it will take, if ever to get allocated another MT, especially in Lunar rock, that I might just suck it up and get Katzkin installed, as leather seats are the primary driver for me and the premium package. I could care less about the tech.

I say take the truck… don’t worry about the nonsense package you’re missing out on. It’s a truck. Seat covers are a must always anyway for me so i always choose cloth. Leather always looks like crap after a few years IMO. Seat covers on cloth = brand new looking seats for life

Take it, Katzkin or even Clazzio look just as good, and both come with Heated seat addons if yours doesnt have it. The rest is just fluff

I haven't heard that; certainly the Toyota web site distinguishes between the two. There are three separate Premium Package offerings:
    1. $4,660 -- Basic Premium Package (i.e. Leather Interior, LED lighting, and "Technology Package")
    2. $5,310 -- Premium Package (identical to #1) with Tonneau Cover
    3. $5,310 -- Premium Package with "Advanced Technology Package"
    I ordered #3.

LOL, I have a factory leather interior on my 2006 and the seats still look great.

I understand your concern. Personally I want the premium package mostly for the moonroof and leather interior. The JBL system I could care less about because I know I could put something in there after market that would be way better for cheaper anyway.

i’m still on the fence as to whether I want the premium package or not. In my request I noted it, and I was quoted 6 to 7 months. most likely wait time would shrink to 3 to 4 months if I did not want the premium package, barring any additional wait time added on if the situation worsens…

if I were you I would just take the truck, because you care about the leather only in that package, and you have a solution. And honestly some of those aftermarket options are nice, the cat skin and whatever else is out there. Unless you really like the heated seat option….

that’s what I mentioned to the dealer, that they are split out in the catalog. it’s interesting though, the premium package is $5100 in the catalog and advanced technology is $1700 if I remember right…
I like your numbers better because I’m being quoted the $6800 for both.

This. I wanted the premium and advanced tech, but got allocated just the tech and non-premium off-road. I'm glad I did though, it saved me thousands. I just bought an Anytime front camera and some Clazzio's. Didn't really want the JBL audio gear or the moonroof anyways.

I really want the moonroof, everything else is superfluous. Probably why they built the package that way
I may end up ditching the premium to get the truck earlier, and also don't want to pay basically $5k for the moonroof.

Always my problem too. I do like the leather also. But, the JBL is junk.

My dealer did notify me that the truck was in port. "dealercategory" = A, "holdstatus" = "Available", "preSold" = true. Still no eta supplied but getting notifications now through the Toyota app when doors are locked, unlocked, opened.

I'm waiting on a SR5 with cloth seats. Are there any seat covers that any of you would recommend in particular? I'm considering doing sheepskin seat covers.

Hello. First time poster, new lurker, and soon to be first timer Tacoma owner.

Since everything is so hard to find, I thought I would share in case you are in the mountain west…

Tony Divino in Ogden UT has a 22 TRD Sport in white available. It has advanced tech, all weather, premium sports package and LED headlights.
It’s not been allocated and it’s built and due at the dealership 4/4.

I think most here are TRD OR but thought I’d pass it along.

While I was sitting in the rest room in Flagstaff last Sunday... my dealer Rudy from ABQ said my truck should be coming within the week. Told me to pick it up within 48 hours of arrival so it won't get damaged by the construction. My truck is on the website, no market adjustments, no BS. I might get more when I trade in my Camry. Everything is looking good here.

If you are ok with Army green, wesley chapel toyota near Tampa FL has a trd off road on allocation that is a manual transmission. I think it only had tech package. I declined because I didnt want the manual
