I wonder how many people with zero commodities experience actually bought futures not knowing you need to take physical possession of the barrels :oldglory:

exactly. these industries and corporations post record profits, and increase executive compensation packages year over year. then one storm rolls in, and we're expected to believe and buy into their story that they can't weather it without cutting low level employees wages, benefits, and raising prices. all while continuing to give exec raises and post high profits. people in here are honestly trying to feed us this corporate line that the oil companies "had" to raise prices to survive, when really all they had to do was make slightly less profit. Please spare me.

When I got a new truck last May I promised myself I wouldn't complain about gas prices, I was making a choice and my budget could handle an increase. I won't complain... I'll note it... but I won't complain. ;)

Besides.. higher gas prices are better than bombs landing in your living room. It's good to keep a healthy perspective on relative hardships.

I've started driving our RAV4 (average MPG in the high 20s) and saving the truck for the weekends right now. Glad to have that option as the Tacoma is lucky to get 18 on the current winter-blend gas here.

A couple more weeks and I can get the Miata out, 12-gallon gas tank, and 30+mpg. :)

The hoarding has probably already began, saw a pick up on the road with a large tank in the bed. No idea if they pulled into the gas station or not. They might own a gas dependent business, like say landscaping or something, and want to be stocked up, or at least get gas before the price goes up higher.

The obvious solution is to just fill up as many plastic bags and bins as you can now so you'll have plenty stocked up when prices get higher.

I knew what I was getting in to, when I bought the Tacoma. Yes, it would be nice to see gas for a dollar a gallon. It would also be nice to see $30,000 houses, Nickel Cokes and 50 cent hamburgers. The reality is those things are long gone. The odds of seeing them again are extremely unlikely.

Wonder where all those “you purchased a truck. If you wanted fuel mileage…buy a Prius” dipshits are?

Besides plastic bags leaking everywhere, I'm wondering how you get it in your tank.

I use my truck daily for work, but I bought a 4 banger…… it only gets 17 mpg loaded with tools.:bananadead:
I’m not going to complain about gas prices until it cuts into my beer fund. I should be good until it hits $10 a gallon.

Not to mention a 1.67% constriction in supply has lead to 25% increase in price, I wonder who’s pocketing the other 23.33%?
