So before you start reading I wanna just say I'm not trying to be a jerk or rude in any way.

I never said I didnt trust him but I actually know what he said is the truth. I know it might be a waste if I used premium or even mid grade in my truck but I havent tried it because I cant waste money like that.

I just responded to buzz about my situation. I dont use ethanol free because it is just not viable and I have had no ill effects. You might ask how I know. I'll tell ya. So I use THE cheapest premium fuel for my 2 strokes. I dont care if it's top tier or bottom of the barrel if it's the cheapest it's going in my tanks. So I'm not refuting anything you have said but saying my experience.

    Here we go.
I have a Stihl BG50 leaf blower that I bought a year after I got a good paying mowing gig at a used car dealer (I started at the age of 12 or 13). So I've used it A LOT. This little thing has probably 200+ hours of WOT. Being the original owner I can tell you it still has the original spark plug and air filter. Yes you read that right. This winter after about 6 whole years of hard use I finally disassembled it and cleaned it. I took apart the carb to see not a single speck of gumming or dirt. I will say I've used Seafoam or Marvels Mystery oil on a few occasions but other than that this carb has never been disassembled in the time I've owned it. So I must be doing something right.

Okay next is the muffler. I took the muffler off and looked on the inside to see what condition it's in. I saw very little carbon build up which I'm happy about.

Next is looking at the piston, cylinder walls, and also the pathway out. So after looking at my piston I see carbon build up on the top but nothing major. Basically from what I see I'm not worried about it but more impressed than anything else. So cyclinder walls is next. With all the abuse and use this thing has been through there was no scoring or at least not much on the walls. So I think that means it's getting proper lubrication (correct me if wrong) and I have not had any foreign material or something of that nature that could cause scoring enter it.
Also I did not see any scoring on the piston.

Next is the pathway out which had very little carbon on it.

I still havent fully talked about my spark plug. I pulled it on my weed wacker and leaf blower and had very minimal carbon on both. I've only has the weed wacker for 3 years so I can speak much about it's long term condition yet. With the leaf blower it's on its original spark plug and still was in spec for gap even after all that time. I believe Stihl recommends replacing it every 50hrs but even after an estimated 200hrs it's still in spec with minimum carbon. It also didnt show any weird colors like white or light brown but it was a nice light layer of jet black. I'll also tell you I've tuned it myself. I have it tuned to above factory idle so it warms up much faster and also has improved reaction.

If your wondering the leaf blower starts just about every time in the summer with 3 primer pumps, choke on and 3 pulls. I also use it in the winter to blow light powdery snow and it likes 5 primer pumps, choke on, and 5 or so pulls.

So I've ran this mix in 2 Stihl weed whackers, 1 Stihl leaf blower, 1 Stihl chainsaw, 1 Toro snow blower and 1 Shindaiwa (I think I spelled this correctly) weed wacker with absolutely no issues. I'm still maybe missing one here and there. That's probably 2 or more grand worth of equipment and from a variety of manufacturers with ZERO issues. Also each one is not the same age or usage.

Also the municipality I work for uses just the cheapest oil they can find and use the same stuff we use in our trucks (I believe it's just regular gas) so were not even using high octane. We have no premature issues with our equipment. Believe me when I say we beat the heck out of our equipment day in and day out. We have a wide swath of equipment which includes hole drillers, weed wackers, blowers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, chainsaws, and a few more. No issues what so ever.

In conclusion I think I can say I know a little about this subject but Im not an expert. I'm not talking about 2 hand knowledge but all first hand.
I would not even question using this fuel combination in any 2 stroke piece of equipment I own. From a hundred dollar Chinese piece of junk to an almost $1k Stihl I would have NO issue with running this.
