I just sent them an email after seeing this and already got a reply that they don’t offer the Strike II. It’s not listed on their site but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask. I really like the high clearance bed sides. Speaks volumes about their customer service though to get back to me so quickly.

I have their Blitz sliders which look great but I still need to install them.

Sorry, jumped the gun when I saw 6 speed in the description and glossed over the automatic part. All I saw for the MTs on my quick search was still the genuine Toyota parts and around $100.
    I’ll keep a lookout though.

Got a tonneau cover second-hand for dirt cheap. Unfortunately, it's the clamp style cover instead of the pull string one but it's the only one in the DFW area that I was able to find decently priced.
Oh, and it's finally paid off. :bananadance:

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
I have not been able to find the "faux" TRD Pro shift knob in order to do my illumination mod on it. Your stuck with buying the OEM MT or just use the "faux" AT model if you don't think you need the shift pattern pressed into the top.

Question though - what is the proper way for the pod pigtail to run under the hood? I was hesitant to close the hood as there seemed to be no gap for the wire and was afraid I would pinch and ruin the pod wire…

As long as it's a good quality tint film and not the cheap crap or spray on, I think it looks good. It also helps to protect the headlights from both the tiny meteoroids of the interstate highway system and the punishing rays of the sun that eventually make headlights go cloudy. If the tint finally takes enough of a beating you can just peel and re-apply.

It won't be over the whole headlight, just the portion where the chrome starts and the side reflector is visible. IF I do it. That's a big if. But since you mentioned this, it makes me want to consider a clear coat layer for them. Because that is a very good point and where I live it gets REALLY bad. That was initially why I also wanted the paint protection film from the factory but that shit barely covers anything. I have seen something a while ago about this but can't remember what it's called. It's like a clear vinyl that gets applied. I'd only put it on the headlights though.

Just grab a hold of something with one hand and hold a flashlight with the other.
    I'll drive.

If you were to apply it to the outside of the housing that might look a little weird but I'd still be interested to see it. You'd probably want to get some 3M vinyl cutting tape to get a good clean cut line. If you were to apply it to the inside, just to the chrome, I'd recommend going with your original idea of painting it. You're in there anyway so might as well do what you really want.

I think you may be thinking of a clear-bra. I have no idea where you're located, but here's some info about different levels of coverage and relative costs for a business in my area:

Yea, it would be from the chrome back. Kind of like those vinyls they make you can add on that cover the reflectors, but instead of just that small portion it would cover the whole back portion of the headlight. I got those reflector vinyls and there were trash. Barely covered anything. They look like this:

    ToyotaTacomaRefelectorOverlay__10271.jpg

But, they don't actually look like that lol. Obviously, in black (the yellow is just to show what it covers)... but they didn't cover enough and too much of that light escaped around the edges. So if I start where the chrome starts and go all the way back from top to bottom, they should cover everything.

I would love to just replace the reflector with a clear one, but that involves some pretty extensive modding. You can always pay someone to do it, I know there is a guy here on TW that does them, and they look great, but then you run the risk of fogging and it's super expensive.

If I was going to use the rattle can method, would that require sanding that portion first? You know, like when you are "restoring" a housing you have to sand it first. Because I got a rattle can on the way and was hoping I could just throw a couple coats straight on then if I don't like it just use some rubbing alcohol and remove it. If not, then I'll try the vinyl method. I have a roll already from doing it on my previous Subaru:

    IMG_6291_preview__53245.1638319580.jpg

But as for the tail lights... really I'd rather just put the black ones back on if I am going this route across the whole truck. I dunno... it's a summer project I have stacked up and we'll see how it pans out once I get started.

Got a set of AG letters from Tufskinz for the skid plate. Still below freezing in the garage so I'll have to use the heater to warm the skid plate up if I want to put them on anytime soon here in northeast PA.

Did you eat at Board Bites? I really like their food. I'm having a hard time finding a used cover for my 6' bed in the DFW area as well.
