It doesn't cost more to refine a $100 barrel than a $10 barrel.

I'm in disbelief this is even a topic here; I assume you know what a furnace is; yes, no? Well furnaces need some form of energy to generate heat, some use electricity, many (most in some areas) use natural gas, some even still use coal, and some, typically where there is no supply of natural gas, use a form of diesel which is burned for the heat.

This gasoline issue is simply exacerbating a problem that already existed: wages. While companies are making record profits, we are not receiving proper raises.

People have been budgeting money as best as they can, but there simply is not enough money to make ends meet. Look at this post from 2019:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WLuuCM6Ej0

When something as important as gas goes up, we have to remove the budget from something else. But you can only remove so much before you have no money left for food, housing, gas, medication, ect.

My grandpa in Georgia had a VW Rabbit Diesel in the 70's that got 50 mpg. I drove it around his farm when I was 12. Fun car.

People still use coal wtf...… or diesel...…. that is amazing to me and I had no idea as I live in a major city and even some smaller ones but never heard of any of that. Not everyone grew up on a farm or someplace where there isn't basic hookups for all that type of stuff

It's not exactly diesel. But it's close enough that you can substitute one for the other at least in off road vehicles /equipment. It's usually cheaper than diesel due to not having road taxes added, which is why a lot of guys will run it in excavators, etc when off road diesel isn't readily available. I have a 2500sq/ft home and burn about 800 gallons a year as I also heat hot water with the furnace. When the price doubles, you notice
