Anyone with a 2008 TRD Off Road 6 spd able to pull plugs or coil packs without removal of S/C? The time and effort to wrestle into that area is worth just pulling the S/C in my experience. I think it is a good time to inspect the unit and take a peak underneath for mouse nests and other fuggery. And a piece of hose has always been a good tool for final removal of spark plugs, similar to the coil pack as mentioned above.

I have. Not a big deal. All though I should add I have a steel braided line that does not attach to the support bracket like factory.

To add the removing the plugs without a plug socket. Use a length of 3/8" fuel line to slide over the porcelain. You can even get them started sometimes.

All this talk about plugs, probably going to replace mine after doing the pump swap.

Is everyone swapping out to the rutheniums with success? Or is it not worth trying out on mostly stock SC taco?

Rutheniums will be better than used iridiums. And iridiums will be better than used rutheniums. Any brand new spark plug will perform better at first. The question is how long will they last at a high level.

I'd trust coppers as well as long as they were a step colder than stock.

No plug will last a long time given the overly rich levels we need to run just to compensate for the overly lean conditions our engines can see at any given moment.

Ruthenium, iridium, or copper. Pick your poison. Rutheniums provided me a higher level of overall engine performance, but will not last any longer than the Iridiums. That much is guaranteed.

Bypass valve adjustment and restrictor jet mod still recommended before I install?

Anything else I should consider before installing?

Absolutely. Especially if you have HPTuners to take full advantage of the TRD Tune to be able to compensate for the change in mixtures it will create when you adjust that BPV.

I took my restrictor jet out and put it back in shortly after. I felt no difference. I believe quite a few did the same thing. I also never messed with the bypass valve. Never saw the reason to. There may indeed be some benefit it just wasn’t worth it to me.

I only messed with the bypass valve cause i had the s/c off and it was easy. Followed the steps and did hear the click...idk if it made any difference cause I did a ton of stuff at the same time.

feedback- tom woods drivelines. on a 1-10 scale....10. customer service, knowledge, speed, etc. new hardware, full dubass proof instructions, warranty options. just impressive. without absolute correction of pinion angle the truck runs so much better. highly recommended if you have heavily modified short box trucks. very happy customer.
im going to buy a front shaft as well.
