Hi buddies, hope everybody is doing great.

I wonder if someone of you have tried using the oem backup camera (shown in mirror) using it with an aftermarket stereo, I went trough forum looking for a post I remember I have seen but was not able to find it, or not sure if was here.

Have you ever tried, Im looking to use my oem camera with my aftermarket stereo if that is possible or maybe just leave with that :)

    Thank you

If you know the camera inputs on your radio I don't see why you couldn't tie into the 2 video output wires between the mirror and the backup camera although you would have to find a spot where they aren't shielded.

I have a 2010 with a kenwood, i was able to tie the OEM camera in and have it display in the mirror and on my kenwood HU. Search for my previous post in AudioVideo section and you will see some pics. The camera has an input in the fusepanel to the left of the steering wheel. I ran a good quality RCA from the HU camera input and spliced the other end to tap into the camera input in the fuse box

Welcome. It’s not too difficult from what I recall but it’s been a while since I did the install.
