It's easy to point a finger and say "It's HIS fault!" when in reality there's a lot more to it.

In 2001 the peak average price was $1.66/gal which equates to about $2.64 today
In 2008 the peak average price was $3.25/gal which equates to about $4.24 today
In 2012 the peak average price was $3.62/gal which equates to about $4.43 today
Two days ago, the average price was $4.10/gal.

Anyone that works in the oil industry can tell you that it is feast or famine. There is currently a manpower crunch for in the GOM as the price goes up and they start putting rigs back to work. US production will always lag the market demand because it takes time to ramp up and it takes time to ramp down.

 

Well it is convenient you are using inflation adjusted numbers…. When we are having the highest inflation in 40 years lol.

We all know who removed the keystone from the arch that started the price hikes.

even if they weren't inflation adjusted. Look at the price differences between the 2001 year and 2012. Now add 10 more years onto it. We are still sitting pretty at today's price
