If that’s the case how could this cause a leak? I don’t believe I had a leak prior to their fix and they even recorded no damage inside. Maybe the ring can channel water in?

I cannot tel from my pic but it looks similar to yours.

At the end of the day, it doesn't neccesarily matter how it happened or which method they used to "fix" it; its leaking now after they touched it, so they'll have to address it.

Maybe the tech didn't notice any prior leak or in some way damaged something.

They fixed my brake light when they did the fuel pump recall. It was not leaking. They said we did the third brake light recall while we were doing your fuel pump recall.

Anyone know if you can just order the seal and do it yourself?

I'd rather just take care of it myself and save time going to the dealer. Also have a canopy I don't want to take off for the dealer.

If you have had no leaks around the light and don’t require mitigation you only need the basic repair kit for DIY repair. Part # 00948-CHMSL.

No money, all went to truck...
Before you get all crazy and think "lawyer" try contact the dealership and see what they say...

There's another dude on here that does all crazy about how terrible toyota is and "class action" this and that and he's pretty much been tarred and feathered....
