They're super fun, and I've only driven the S..the JCW is 40 more horse and 30 more torque. Apparently there were issues with torque that prevented some transmission options, but 8 speed it is for me. But in a lightweight little car that's quick you're going to be grinning anyway haha.

Someone in their infinite wisdom decided red locktite was only required on the nut side of an exhaust stud when they built this unit I have to fix

But since I'm thinking about it, what did you say was the correct method of doing this without the double nuts?

 

Wouldn't the exhaust heat just negate that over time?

Essentially yes it would. However this is a brand new piece of equipment that got its frame destroyed by a shipping company and sent back to us by the customer (via one of our distributors) so it only has an hour of time on it and I had to pull the damaged muffler to install a new one.

It only has an hour of time on it so not enough hours for the normal heat cycles to breakdown the locktite. Personally I use copper antiseize on the nut side exhaust studs because when they get old enough the constantly heat cycles practically weld the nuts to the stud and the stud in the head.

 

We use to only make OT not DT. But my union just said now anything past 8 hours is ot and past 16 hours is DT

That's awesome. I was amazed my current boss decided to give OT over 8 in a day compared to state requirements of anything over 40 in a wk. That little it made a world of difference to my check
