Beautiful Ranger. Keep it looking like that and sell it on Bring a Trailer or Cars and Bids to fetch top dollar. I bet that thing would fetch $10k or so in this market for used/low mileage cars/trucks.

Love my manual pro and wouldn't be driving a tacoma if it didn't come in stick. Pros and manuals are always a little tougher I ended up with a super white (not normally a big fan of white) because it was manual > color. The numbers could have changed but before it was they only made like 250 manual pros a year and the color spread wasn't even by region. Couple that with only making the manuals once a quarter and you have to do a little extra legwork to get it, but it's worth it. Good luck with your hunt.

Only drive manual Tacomas had 2020 OR, 2021 Pro, and waiting on Lime 2022 pro in next week or so. Only way I'd get one. My other 2 were Grey which I never was overly fond of.

    Check build thread!
God I love this forum, but sometimes the know it alls get a bit much.

OP, the manual in the Tacoma is awesome, and if you enjoy driving manual and are in the situation for one, I’d hold out for it.

Colour next year is complete speculation, I work for a dealer and we have no idea either. I’d guess solar flair (the 2022 Tundra TRD PRO Color) as the bright colours seem to be popular with Toyota now.

Expect an 8-16 month wait for a custom ordered MT pro.

Color choices on the Pro a few and not very exciting. Black, white, magnetic gray metallic, and color of the year lime. Last year, my wife wasn't very excited about the normal colors and lunar rock. In May, we put a deposit down on a '21 LR Pro. We were in no hurry to get it so the wait wasn't a bother. At least it wasn't a bother until it became nearly a year. In August, the dealer called and said we would need to choose a different color for a '22 Pro. The wife chose black. A couple months later she called the dealer and changed the preferred color to MGM. Her MGM Pro should be here in early April. I guess the point is, if you aren't in a hurry there is some flexibility.
For those that are saying it's too late to get a '22 Pro, there was a dude in the 2022 factory build thread that posted a couple days ago about getting a black '22 Pro MT in 12 days. You have to do the research and be lucky. Good luck on your quest.

I’ve been lucky. Started out looking for a 6MT sport. Only way to get a manual in Canada other then a Pro. Found a 6MT pro in Lime but missed it by an hour. I kind of gave up on a Pro. 2 days later SA dealer I stopped in at said good luck finding a 6MT Pro. Even a 6MT sport will be hard. But I have a Lime PRO auto landing in 3 weeks unsold. Made a deal on it and left a 2 non refundable deposit. A week later my original dealer called saying they got a 6MT Pro in Black allocated, will be here in 3 months. I told them I just left a deposit on an auto. Salesman said well if you want I’ll put your name on the black 6MT and trade in the PRO auto when the 6MT comes in. We will even give you $1500 more then you paid for the auto. So I can drive it for 3 months basically for free. Crazy thing is I hade a used car broker offer $5k more then I paid but he wants it now. But I need something to drive. I think it’s a bit of luck and timing getting them.

It is!! But I almost wish I nothing was available so I wouldn’t have to make a choice. But I won’t complain.

    Super lucky, congrats!

late last year, I spend 3 or 4 months trying to find a new Pro, was on 5 wait list, etc... finally decided I was OK with a very new used pro (8K miles), which I pulled the trigger on. I've had my 2019 since October and love it. Then last week I got a call from one of the dealers saying they had a 2022 Pro that was coming in and I was first on the list. It was definitely temped, but I didn't want to go through the hassle and cost of selling/buying again... plus I'm in love with my 2019.

With the way the market is could probably get into the 22 for not much more if at all. Unless the dealer is doing a market adjustment

Stick with the lime. All boring trucks go to hell; sometimes with their drivers.

I'm very familiar with the back seat situation of the Taco. I've had 3 of them. It's not a family car, and I could probably count on one hand how many times all 3 of us would be in the Taco. That's why my wife drives a Highlander. If we are all going somewhere, we take her car. I will eventually go full-size. It's just not in the cards right now.

Agree. Bob Tyler sucks. I don't live in PCola anymore though. In Jax now.

Never, never, never use definitive language when you don't the other person's situation. I would rather put MY 16 year old kid in something safe and reliable. Add the MT so 99% of his friends won't be able to drive it, and I have done a pretty damn good job of teaching my kid to take care of his shit. The original post did not solicit any opinions of what I should get my son or if I should make him pay for it.

Again, original post didn't ask for opinions about my grandfather. Do you even know if he's still alive? No, you don't. It's not a "lame move" because you don't know the situation. "You're sure he could us the money..."? I don't think you are so sure...

Have a great day, all! I have made my decision (whether you agree with it or not), and will pursue that. Thank you for all advice, opinions, and suggestions. :hattip:
