Now, I imagine what many of you think of Consumer Reports "Most and Least Reliable Vehicle" charts, but the 2021 Taco is one of only 3 vehicles from 2021 that gets ALL green double pointy up arrows (i.e. much better than average). Not much consolation for anyone having issues, and I guess they lump all the trim lines together, but it sure as heck made me happier than if I owned some other vehicles.

FWIW, the only other '21's that rated that highly are the Lexus GX and Chevy Blazer.

Consumer reports is trash, chevy blazer, really, lol. Where's the video of the guy with a 2021 who's bumper caps were misaligned, coming off and door panel rattling. I'll keep my pre pandemic 2020.

Thx for the info! Can you post a picture of the ratings for the 2021 Tacoma?

Also, what was the overall score out of 100?

    Screenshot of chart.

The overall rating for the 2022 was 51 out of 100; the Nissan Frontier got 54, and the Ford Ranger got 62. The Tacoma got dinged for the usual CR complaints: it's "primitive," and the "ride is stiff and ponderous." Huh. Guess it's a pickup.

CR has never rated Toyota's pickups or SUV's very highly for as long as I've been paying attention. I never really understood how vehicles that could routinely run for over 300K miles with so few problems could be rated so poorly, but you must be on to something.

I use to subscribe to CR a long time ago. They were always partial to Honda/Toyota/Nissan which was fine with me.

    I've owned/purchased NEW:
    1993 Isuzu Rodeo 5-speed
    1996 Honda Accord LX
    2003 Honda Pilot EX DVD
    2021 Toyota Tacoma Sport

I'm very happy with my Sport.

No, I don't. Everyone knows that consumer reports is paid advertising. Their ratings go to the highest bidder. Plus they don't like toyota trucks because they drive like trucks, not cars. That's why the honda ridgeline always beat the tacoma for best truck.

My point was consumer reports is only good for emergency fire starter and toilet paper.

I had one for eight months. It is the best truck ever for non pickup truck owners. I am back in a Tacoma because I am a truck guy.

Oh yes. The ‘18 and ‘20 are sooooo much better than the ‘19. I mean, they totally aren’t essentially the same truck. What a load of shit.

I've been very pleased with my post pandemic 2020 SR5.
After looking at the Colorado and Ranger I felt like Toyota build quality was better. So far not disappointed.
