Anyone here owned a Honda CRF250L AND the new 300? Is the 300 less vibey? As smooth as the engine was I felt a lot of vibrations in my hands on both 250L models I rode, one was a buddies for a day and another a friend’s I had for a month or so. Just curious if the 300 is more/less/same (or if the models I rode were just exceptions).

I've never ridden a 300L but I put foam slip on covers on my 250L grips which helped a lot.

So it’s not just me haha. My hands went numb faster on those bikes than other dual sports I’ve owned/ridden. Would consider a 300 if that wasn’t an issue.

It’s still a single cylinder thumper so I wouldn’t expect much different.

@fatfurious2 get a new grom to complement the AT. Don’t waste your time on a scooter

The flat seat on the ‘22 Grom is a game changer for me. Will have one eventually.

The XT225 and XT250 I’ve owned in the past were smooth as butter at the handlebars!

Interesting. It came down to a 250L and a XT250 for me and the 250L was the first that showed up for sale.

He’d have to get gold wheels on his AT then :D You'd have to match, right? :boink:

I think a grom would look nice with white panniers and roll cage.

I think by most people’s standards the Honda usually wins, but I’ve always found the XT to be superior for my needs in particular.

That said, a 300+ would be fun to test ride to see the difference. Something between the pig of a DRZ and the trials bike style XT.

Scooter would be a replacement dd. I don't need a grom to go 2.3 miles to work

I picked up a 2018 XRx early this year. I am very happy with the bike. The former owner had a few farkles on it, seat, luggage, heated gear set up, trickle charge setup. The 2018 has a different tuned engine than it's predecessors and from what I have read and heard the engine is better. This is my first Tiger and I have no experience with the older models. I get some vibration at the bars, but nothing crazy, and nothing in the footpegs with the rubber inserts installed.

The Tiger triple likes to get rung out through the rpms, it doesn't lug in the lower rpms on the road or down forest roads I have had it on, but it isn't like a thumper you can tractor along either. For me it's great for what I need, devouring road miles with ease and comfort while still being able to handle a dirt/forest service road when I see one and want to explore. I won't be doing single track with this bike, most likely even while riding with another bike. However, I will bomb the heck out of dirt/forest roads with it with confidence, hit twisties with enthusiasm, and chew up the highway in between them all.

My wife loves it too as a pillion. She has no complaints at 5' 4" on the comfort and space.

One thing I noticed and others have complained about was the buffeting around the head in the cockpit. Others have changed windscreens to fix it, I just added the clamp on Puig spoiler and it fixed it for me. My wife didn't have any complaints about buffeting before or after the install. Another thing someone mentioned to me was 2018 was the year they started mounting the cruise control switch on the left handle bar vs the right, which I was told more convenient due to not having to worry about the throttle while trying to press it with your thumb.

Final thing is my XR is the road version with a 17" front wheel vs the XC with the 19" so handling will differ, obviously.

There are a lot of great comparison reviews, on the web. And the price ranges you posted is what I was seeing also. Good luck.

:anonymous: I'd be lying if I said I have never done this too.

Damn I never thought to have a pen on me to test the dough.

I'm sorry to hear that, theft fucking sucks. I had my f4i stolen and it really fucked my trust in people for a VERY long time.

I've always went with till I saw wire. :p

I know everybody is already saying it, but I might have to dust off the ol Dizzer and use her to save on gas

Problem being that she's got 15367 miles and smokes on start up. I think the exhaust valve seats are hammered. Plus the rings have to be tired by now...
