hatchet is def a multipurpose piece. Like the grinder

 

My old Makita finally stopped the other day Probably a bad switch, or maybe the brushes are really that worn out.


So I got out the NEW makita, which I inherited from Dad. That thing is nice! I'll fix the old one soon enough, that thing is practically an heirloom.

 

I gotta say, the Milwaukee cordless stuff is nice but I love my cord makita grinder. I’ve had it for 15 years, never lets me down.

bout to get my grinder badge. That’s 1/2” of pure weld grinding! If you ain’t grindin you ain’t weldin!

 

Might have a old corded makita at my shop you can have for parts of its the same.

when i was at sears what ever guy truck i got left it in there. So i got it for free lol

 

Good old corded stuff is solid. The 'old' Makita in my case is from circa 1982. Been through a lot.

Whole other world back then, I was born in '83. Pretty sure dad got this thing for working on the austin healey, it probably needed a lot of cutting to take apart.

 

I was looking at that, the picture doesn't match. Mine has a flat bottom, not a grippy thing.

thats a classic! I don't like the side press though..My 2000's one has the slide trigger.

 

East coast bed time for me.

 

The new one has big paddle on the side, its safer, but I do like the big switch on the old one (although it tends to get jammed up with crap and shut off randomly if you don't hold it)
