Interesting. I don't know how he responds and I hope i don't give redundant information but I'd like to share what I've come up with.

I can't help much because every taco I've come across in the junk yard (or shit box I've owned) has been an AC... although I prefer to call it the Xtra cab because the 90s were the best part of my life and we expressed everything with a capital X.

I digress... having only dealt with AC or base model 3G4R, every seat has had the "forth" bolt on the trans tunnel. While doing my research from wanting to get rid of my original 60/40 bench, I came across similar posts you've run into.. ones with conflicting information. I just recently bought limited trim model 4R seats, and my previous readings taught me, they weren't going to work. Yet I had to do nothing different to make them fit in the same orientation I made my base model 4R seats fit.

I don't see why regular cab would be built differently in the cab compared to the Xtra cab. I think there are 2 groups of people that do 4R seat swaps into tacomas and everyone mentions 3 out of 4 holes, and both groups are correct. If you line the two front rail bolt in first, the bolt closest to the door is "kinda" in place, and then the one on the trans tunnel doesn't line up. If you bolt the trans tunnel in first, and then the front one closest to the inside next (because it's the next closest hole that lines up) you'll see you can force the seat bracket down and make the back door side mount barely fit UT then the front door side hole needs hammered to shit to even be close. But then the shift-the-seat-in-and-out-rails don't really work at all given the angle the feet are at.

In my experience having installed both style 4R seats in an XC, it works best to have the plate for the rear door side foot installed loosely, then do trans tunnel, then inside front. THEN moderate hammering with a deadblow hammer to shape the front outside foot into position. Boom, seat installed

@6P4 well damn. While checking my post for errors, I see you asked about regular cabs. Disregard my post, cause you tagged @0xDEADBEEF and I could have sworn he was an XC like me. My bad

Yeah, it looks like I'll have to drill out the trans tunnel hole and use a regular nut (since there's not factory-installed weld nut) if I want these seats to work.

The bigger issue now is that the seat belts are different styles. The buckles aren't compatible. The 4Runner seats have a rigid receiver fixed to the seat and the bench seats have a flexible receiver that passes through and bolts to the floor. I didn't snag the 4Runner seat belts but I don't think they'd do much good anyway, unless I send my originals off to someone like Safety Restore and get them to swap the buckles (which actually isn't an awful option since my driver's belt is frayed too).

I could never make it passed step one "Admitted we were powerless over alcohol — that our lives had become unmanageable". I have all the power and I manage my alcoholism perfectly fine. Then there's the whole god thing. Don't need that in my life.

Working in the machine shop there were a few guys that had been through 12 step programs and they were unbearable... the never ending talk of their salvation and weird false positivity... Like dude chill the fuck out you have fucked up teeth from Meth and you smoke almost non stop shit's not as sunny as you're making it out to be.

Makes you wonder if they’re really in a better place, or trying to convince themselves that they are.

I had an 92 astro van intended to do a manual conversion to. 89 astro vans had that as a factory option, but went away next model year. However all the bolt dimples were in the metal of the foot well for where the clutch pedal attached and came through the floor.

If chevy did that, I'd imagine toyota would've done the same on our trucks.. sucks to have to pull the carpet essentially out just to check though :(
