The Snapper Comet! They made them almost unchanged for at least 30 years.

See the two bars on the back? They were "feet" to tip the machine up to a standing position on so you could scrape the deck.
Most Comets didn't have a battery start so the only thing that spilled was gas if the tank was too full.

Ha, no but he's a super nice gentleman in upper 70's in age...may be 80's now.
He started a fence company he said in 1970 upon his return from active duty in Vietnam.
His son's operate the business now and are the ones who landed a contract with my current employer when they made security upgrades. That project alone was in the millions. His home across the street is a secondary home, where he grew up. It's beautiful and completely modernized old farmhouse. Plus few outbuildings that house numerous toys; boat, classic cars, motorcycles, travel home like winnebago etc.

My boss mans dad has one, he threw the rod in the original 8HP engine, I had a Kohler 14hp and put it on for him, moved those bars back because he has the bagger attachment that also goes on them. This one was battery start. We had one as a kid that was a cord only.

Bored it out with a .001” press fit, little hot wrench and it fell in :bananadance:

Now to weld it and finish turn it.

My main riding more is going to need primary belt this spring. It's the original one and showing loss of power and pretty good wear.
I bought a second one used from a friend when he moved out of state. I didn't need it but couldn't pass it up for $450.00, around 12 hundred new or little more. It's Husky brand 2 blade deck and it actually cuts a little nicer than the Craftsman but my wife doesn't like Husky because not as much cushion or comfortable ride.

This got delivered yesterday. It's a throttle linkage bracket for Holley Carb on my Corvette. It was 1/4 the cost of others from Amazon. Now I have a template too:D

Thanks for posting it here. I'm not big on wood work, so would have never seen.

I can recognize a beautiful wood project, though.

    Those projects look great!

I feel the need to get up and do something. Look at the weather radar and if snow about done clean the driveway or something. Anything. Garage could use picked up a bit.
Post a couple pictures in cat thread. Here's one few minutes ago. This is Cricket, she's the most needy for attention. 20220310_105715.jpg

That is how I feel too, I really don't like working with wood (suck at it too) but enjoy the craftsmanship of others.

Close enough for a mill runner :D

Free handed what I could then hit it with the grinder and a flap wheel while running. Don’t tell OSHA.
