FYI: These have no ability to resist a side load. Square tubing has essentially no strength in that direction. Fully boxing in would help

edit: that giant ass pin is also there to help the front of the seat from shearing off. including that and something for its respective hole in the body would go a long way to increasing safety

Nope. Doesn't stick out far enough to give you time to react.

Agreed. Trans tunnel on one side, door on the other, plus the rear bolts and seat frame. They can't go very far, and if they do, I've bent more than these.

Those are sweet! I’m definitely going to be getting a pair once I go to 35’s. Those will definitely give you some peace of mind when traversing the big stuff!

call me crazy, but I'd prefer the bolts holding my seat down to keep me more contained than bouncing between the trans tunnel and door

Oh don't misunderstand that I think you're wrong. It's more just the side shear I'd be putting on those 1" pieces in my opinion is low, and my tolerance for the risk of moving as much as an inch if they bent completely over is high. They'd be solid and have the pin on the bottom if I were going to sell them.

That’s hilarious… I downloaded the app yesterday and was like…. This app does nothing and gives me no information. I’ll never get those 5 minutes back!

I put the new Course Motorsports Autogrip Charging Head onto the original mount I've been using. The original set-up was a non-charging magnetic head. I loved the fit but using the steel plate in the phone case eliminated Qi charging. And, I prefer to place my phone - an iPhone Xs Max - horizontally on the mount and it would always droop to one side or the other. This was the original mount kit.

Since making the original Course Motorsports has greatly expanded their line, added charging magnetic heads and also this powered Autogrip mount.

Once powered the wings close down on the phone automatically when you set it into the mount. To remove the phone, you just touch one of the lighted buttons on either side of the mount (or top/bottom, depending on orientation).

I need to give it a better road test - will do that on Friday when I have to run some errands. I am also in the process of hard-wiring the mount instead of using the included adapter in the power outlet on the dash. All in all, though, I am really happy with the unit - always loved the low-profile mount that attaches to the upper left screw of the infotainment system. It holds my phone securely and doesn't droop. Looks like a winner especially if you have a larger profile phone. As you can see, the phone is charging through my Otterbox case

When I originally inquired about the mount at Course Motorsports, they did tell me that some users have indicated an issue where they have to angle the mount up to keep the motor housing from hitting the dash surround. They will be making an offset but they sent me the details and I secured a 7/16" hex offset that works perfectly. You can see it attached to the mount in the second picture.
