My guess would be they're aluminum. Strange that the site doesn't say.

They’re aluminum. I’ve used hurricane hinges for different camper builds over the years and have never came across anything else.

SCS couldn’t, at the time, bend my brackets but OSH cut could. Glad SCS got their stuff together

My build got postponed till I move. Denver, CO will be my new home in a few short months. Does anyone who’s already built up or in process of building have any tips/recommendations on sourcing materials/machining for panels in that area?

I'm out of Denver, and I used Plasticare in Englewood (just south of Denver). I didn't ask about machining, but they do CNC other plastic and composites, so imagine they may be able to for ACM. When I ordered mine in May 2021 they were the cheapest place I'd called. Other signage companies were way more expensive. I also bought at a terrible time, so can't speak to current rates.

They don't keep it in stock, but it was only a 2-day lead time to get it in.

I may have to bring over a 6 pack and request a tour of your camper when I move out there. If you’re willing of course. Your build is pretty amazing

There are a number of us in the Denver area in here, including @Ripcord himself. Maybe we all can meet up and compare builds one day

How has the poly hinge held up thus far?

I've gone through all 138 pages and I vaguely remember someone mentioning using a long piano hinge for the side and rear panels with some waterproof fabric over the hinge. So, the fabric would be placed between the panel and the hinge then between the hinge and the frame. In theory it sounds like an inexpensive way to get a long supporting hinge that is waterproof. Can anyone attest to trying it out or have any reasons why not to do it? I'd love to use a longer hinge for more support along the top of the panels instead of 3-4 small hinges but would love to use a method that wasn't hundreds of dollars for some hurricane or continuous hinges. Thanks fellas.

Nevermind, I found the information and am going to go that route. Another question: has any one used rivnuts instead of the weld nuts for panel lifting struts? I would think that if siliconed in and installed properly it would work rather well. I'm not sure if using the weld nut and having the lower part of the strut sticking out from the space frame a little bit is desired for one reason or another.

@Timk396 weld nuts are stronger. constant movement of the struts could possibly wear out the rivnuts down the line.

Eh... while I agree the weld nuts are definitely stronger, I do think rivnuts would be totally acceptable. The amount of force these struts are applying isn't that much, and almost entirely in sheer.
