Has anyone else experienced a touchy throttle response when barely giving the truck throttle. It is almost like the drive by wire switch on the throttle pedal is not calibrated properly or maybe it needs to be replaced.

I don't know if I have explained my issue well, so just let me know.

My 3rd gen was kinda laggy on the throttle. 2nd gen way more touchy. That sounds like it may not be a bad problem though. Are you talking about from a stop, into acceleration?

Into acceleration. It is only when starting off, that it feels non linear and then as soon as you get past that "dead spot" it works fine.

Then you would know better than anyone. Take it to the dealer and tell them to fix your 4th or 5th expensive ass tacoma or you are buying a ford!

I think you likely purchased a Tacoma where the previous owner got a tune. There's a few popular tunes here that have that "dead spot" you mentioned.

We have the KD MAX tune on our 2021 and the throttle response is exactly like you described.

Speaking of tunes, does anyone have a recommendation for a tune that doesn’t have a dead spot or feels touchy? How does the KDmax “granny throttle” tune feel? Same as the others? I’ve read that the OTT tune is pretty smooth

My throttle was very touchy after the first KD Max tune. Tried the light tip, super light tip and it was still twitchy. I have the most recent version now and it is significantly better.
