This one is not a custom. They have about 10 or 12 different designs of the bug.

 

Should also say, I’ve posted many custom cars and vw bugs over the 200 + pages but I didn’t customize any of them. I have 2 guys I buy customs from and a good friend who has made many of them for me.

Funny thing about the matchbox VW bug, almost all of them have a trailer hitch.

 

Matchbox has a lot of trailers too so that works out..

Saw these today at Hobby Lobby. Not my thing, but I figured I'd share.

 

Ok I’ll try this again. They have a few trailers I just find it funny of all the cars to put the hitch on they pick the VW bug. I have the off road trailer that I gave to my buddy to customize and match to a Baja bug. The 2 M2 bugs I have.

Found one of the Toyotas I’ve been looking for

 

It is funny cars today. These are all 1/24 scale. The Snowman is a pretty old Revell model kit that I dropped 10 years ago and thought it was destroyed. I was glad I didn't throw it out or used it for parts because several years later I was able to rebuild it bashing it with another kit.
The LA Hooker was another similar story. The original version turned out awful with crappy decals so I ordered the decal kit for the LA Hooker and repainted the kit. John Force drove this car before he got famous. Building model kit funny cars are a nightmare at times. About 50% just dont turn out the way you want them too. I still have 2 more bodies to save someday.
The last 2 are metal die casts I had found in a discount store of all places.

 

Walmart restocked. Found a few cool ones. No premiums in stock though

 

Walmart restocked here in my area as well, but the vultures keep picking it clean. We have to many swap meets, flea markets and auctions in this area. It surprises me when I travel and see what is on the shelves elsewhere.
While at our local Wierdmart last week I found an employees stash of diecasts on the bottom shelf tucked behind some other things nobody wanted. I had to get down on my knees to look at something that caught my eye and spotted the stash. I know where to look now. Now I have to compete with employees as well.
That green Hot Wheels 55 Chevy Gasser is still illusive for my collection.

Having only been "collecting" for a few short months I still haven't figure out this whole supply thing.

Here's what I found today



All but the white Toyota are from last year's set and two of them are just color variations.

The shelf at Walmart was empty but there was a small display by the check out.
The other Walmart was empty as well as Target.
I refuse to buy overpriced Ebay shit but it's annoying to keep striking out.

 

I feel the same way when I go to the swap meets and flea markets and see the vultures trying to get $8 or $10 for what they hauled out of the stores locally for $2. If someone is stupid enough to pay those prices, they are going to keep doing it. Over the years buying so many model kits I have a few vendors who do me right but I don't see it often with the diecast guys unless they are trying to unload a bunch of stuff. I usually try to search out the guy cleaning out his garage before the vultures close in on them. Auctions and estate sales and yard sales can sometimes be worth while.
When I am setting up at the Hartville flea market the vultures are tearing into my boxes while I am unloading at 6 in the morning. What a life they must live.

The die-cast pickup truck Gods were looking down over Texas today. I scored two 95 Nissan hard-body's, a 58 Chevy Apache, and a 2017 For Raptor at the dollar tree. I was feeling lucky so I threw the dice at the walmart craps table and found a 2020 Tacoma. Life is good in the hood.
