That's going to be the least of our worries.. have you seen the prices on futures for precious metals like titanium and Nickel? Ukraine is one of the largest suppliers to us for these raw materials. I have a good friend the works in the auto industry, he was telling me about the current meetings that he has been apart of because GM ( and the other OE's) are loosing their minds with their suppliers as many only have enough raw materials on hand for 90 days of production. ( you know, because lean manufacturing is a great idea...) so besides the IC chip shortages, there's going to be massive shortages of raw materials to make batteries, wiring harnesses, certain grades of alloys, ect...

The price of a new car is going to get so high, we won't have to worry about gas because we won't be able to afford anything that uses gas..

How do you decide that it's safe to de-winterize Chebby and get ready for your 1st adventure of the year?

so no driving the camaro tomorrow either? :burnrubber:

just waiting for the overnight temps to not be so damn cold. i won't fully dewinterize (take out the pink antifreeze gunk and fill the water tank) until sometime in early may. the night temps are too cold to put the batteries in it even if i leave it plugged in. the batteries aren't supposed to freeze if they're charged but the cold really zaps the life out of them and they dont recharge as easily. i'm still using the same batteries that were in the camper when i got it in april 2020 and i'm betting this will be the last summer i have them before they need to be replaced.
i'm hoping i'll be camping by april 1, first few trips will be dry camping (not using the bathroom) but i should be out of the hard freeze danger zone by then. :fingerscrossed:

I'm going to get something from this last storm, the accumulations vary depending on which weather model you want to believe. I want to try out the used, beater snow blower that I got last month. I have a feeling that this will be the last chance of any snow for the year. I'm ready for 40° low temps so that I can stop running the woodstove all night. I've just about exhausted the firewood supply.

I hope this storm is not as bad as the snow storm we had in January . I live in a new housing community that's still under construction . The roads are either not paved or paved but still well below grade . There's numerous sewer grates and man hole covers that are maybe 8-12 inches above the first layer of asphalt .it's like driving a slalom course when the weather's clear and sunny

With all obstacles in the roads and construction equipment and dumpsters a snow plow can't clear the roads here . My house is maybe a quarter mile from a major road

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Flex fuel looks like it might see a little bump in usage. Price differences look about right for the loss in mileage.

I feel like I got lucky when filled the Taco 3 days ago @ $4.25 a gallon of low grade - and just did all the work it needed for better gas mileage and parts too. GTG for another 100,000...which may take another 20 years at this rate.

    Good morning all,

Some kind of fracas on the interstate this morning involving gunshots has all lanes shut down. If I'm going to wave, I use all 5 fingers...o_O

Stay safe out there today, and enjoy your Friday.
