I just started riding on a Spank Oozy 220. So far it has been great. Even did a rude last weekend without padded shorts and was not too sore the next day.

Nice, love my Stage helmet! Just a safety FYI, that's definitely in the Enduro category not DH. While it'll offer extended protection from a half-lid, without much weight penalty, it's not in the same league as DH specific helmets like the D4. The D4 is currently on sale now, for VERY reasonable prices, even the carbon models.

I ride just all trail and some bike park.
I dont ride DH so my old helmet was way over kill for what i rode and hot AF lol. Bought it back in the day to look “cool” lol.

So the stage should suit my riding style way better.

I just switched all my bikes over to the WTB Silverado and my ass couldn't thank me enough. I adjusted and built up my taint callus with the standard specialized saddle, but the Silverado has a little more of a cushioned platform at the rear that really helped out with sitting on a longer climb. As others have said, it really comes down to your sit bones and shape of your hips, but if you can get your sit bones measured, it will help with a good starting point.

The stage is def lighter than the D4, so without quibbling about "overkill" design, both have the ASTM F1952 rating, which is the DH racing safety standard, as well as the other similar standards (CE / NZS) so both should be well suited for proper DH racing and all the risk it entails. Maybe I'm misreading your point?

speaking of saddles, anyone ever have problems with their tip going numb? it usually only happens to me early in the season, but my trainer bike just isnt going away. i think the bike may be too small for me and im just in a weird position

Weird, never had penile issues. I've heard of people having chafing issues but, yeah... maybe its a size issue for me.

I like the saddles with the cutout. I got the specialized power arc and that has been good. I think the issue with the trainer is that you are constantly in the same position.

I've loved the Silverado and have them on all of my bikes. Excellent saddles for many, but personal preference still rules. That said, it seems to be a very agreeable one.

Gonna be heading out to Salt Lake City to meet up with a couple friends (also TW members) for some snowboarding and hit a couple skateparks on the bmx bikes.

Just curious if anyone from the area knows if any MTB trails are in rideable condition? We are considering bringing the mountain bikes with us too.

We got some fresh snow and rain lately, but lemme poke around.

Eagle mountain is likely g2g, but may be muddy AF and even though the trail group is annoyingly cool with riding muddy, may be gross enough you dont want to anyways.
