I'm curious - what rpms would a 4.0 V6 automatic with stock gears/tires be at 65-70 mph? Maybe that's a loaded question as the different models like TRDs and/or Off Roads may be geared differently.

For what’s it’s worth, ECGS is something to look into the have complete 3rd members and front diffs assembled. I went through them and the only thing is you have to reuse your old flange for the 3rd member

I'm gonna say at least in the low 2k rpm range. Been a while since I had stock tires

Ok - I have heard of a few being just under 2k rpm. Not sure if those were stock. My 2.7L 5 speed manual is only around 2350 rpms at 65 mph. I say only because every other 4 cylinder manual vehicle I've had was geared shorter, for a higher rpm. I found out that my truck doesn't have the stock tires after seeing the label on the door, has 265 70R/16s while stock is P245/75R16. I always thought it was a bit too tall, then I saw that could be due to the slight tire diameter increase of the 265s.

I am on 35's, armored front and rear with skids and a rtt. 4.56's are best if you do highway driving, 4.88's rev too high in my opinion, 4.88s with 37's maybe. at 70 im at like 2400 rpms, 75 2650 rpms, anything past that is just wasting gas.

Same year and tire size as OP. Recently went to 4.56 through ECGS. Very noticeable increase in torque and faster acceleration. Shift points feel more natural and the engine isn't revving like crazy to get up to speed. Truck is generally much more fun to drive again. Kind of forgot how it was supposed to drive after slowly adding more weight and accessories over the years.

This comment is what I was looking for. Im jumping to 37s at the end of the year. I have a rear bumper on order and a front sitting in the garage and couldnt find a solid answer to regearing with full armor. I am torn between 4.88 and 5.29 but leaning more towards 4.88.

I would do 4.88's then especially if you daily/do a lot of highway. Also, a big factor is tire weight. I just switched out my regular wheel with maxxis bighorns for toyo MT's with beadlocks, easily added 30 pounds per corner and i can feel that especially uphill.
