Always scary to be involved in an engine failure. Luckily these glide so well.

Look up the Gimli Glider. Air Canada commercial flight that ran out of fuel and landed safely, luckily the pilot was formerly a glider pilot.

I'll check it out. The one that still gives me the willys is this one - poor bastard. I'd never want to be in the cockpit again.

FYI it can be done without removing the timing belt or crank or fan, etc - just the timing belt cover. I've pulling the timing belt off the cam gears and put it back on twice now. Easier with a 2nd person though since you need to basically pull both cam gears towards each other as you thread the center pulley in.

Do all gaskets though, yes. Engine mounts not really in the same category unless you really feel like lifting the engine too.

Engine mounts are getting worn at this point. Easy enough job on my 99 swapping to solid poly mounts.

I'm just thinking on a list of things to knock out so I'm not right back into it a few months later. But I wiped off the residue and I'll watch it like @Empty_Lord said.

Honestly when you do it i just buy the whole gasket kit from Toyota and pull the motor. If the head gaskets leaking and you’ve got the skill you may as well give the whole engine a reseal and once over for another 20 years of service

That’s Tyler’s supervisor. We can’t trust tyler alone on brakes yet

I was actually teaching him haha, he wanted to learn. I showed him how to do one side, and gave him my wrench and said "OK, go do the other side now."

Was talking to a railroad buddy last night who does drones for inspections. Apparently they use quite a bit of Skydio stuff, about 80% of their business is industrial drones. Explains a bit why their consumer stuff is so good

Cool. I know they have an enterprise version for 3D inspections and a Military version.
