Some pics of the undercarriage. The things that make this the Trail Edition.E85EA1A8-96B2-43CF-A319-21533E178DB7.jpg 739138E6-CA15-4842-A2DE-26F769908883.jpg A6E8C526-E5DA-4DF6-8F99-DF823BB3B94A.jpg

    How does it ride?

This question is open for anyone with a TE, or anyone who has driven one.

Since the suspension is different from all the other Tacomas. SR-5 dampers I belive and longer front coils along with the rear block. How does it ride in comparison to say a regular SR-5 or Off Road, or any other Tacoma?

I wouldn't think it would be drastically different from the regular SR-5, but it sits a bit higher.

Haven’t driven a 3rd gen til this. It feels floaty. Soaks up speed bumps and pot holes really well compared to my brothers Tundra. You do feel like your pointing upward in the drivers seat. My wife noticed that she feels like the tallest truck on the road at most times. Mentioned she can look downward on other trucks next to her, like it’s easy to see their laps through the window. I guess 1.1” makes a bigger difference than I thought. Along with the power adjustable seat that she probably set higher than most.

    Just the basics
Do not assume the factory skids are much protection.

I don't see any holes or tears. Were components behind the skids damaged? I always assumed that sheet metal can bend and scratch easily. What are the consensus best skids on the market for 3rd gen tacos?

Looking at placing an order on a LR Trail in a couple months.

What kind of MPG are y’all getting in your trail edition? I can’t imagine the 1”/0.5” lift helps the cause…

Also, does the differential lift make you feel angled towards the sky? Sorry if that’s a stupid question.

Not entirely. An aluminum pelfrey skid replaced the factory skids.

I replaced my struts with rough country’s 3.5 inch as well as their 3.5” control arms because I felt the factory stuff wasn’t going to hold up with MI pot holes.

that was at 2700 now at 4056. 3 weeks of owning

photo shown with just the factory 1/2 inch block still in the rear. I added 1.5 inch to level it out.

Just noticed, Canadian trucks have standard mirrors. No integrated turn signals like US trail editions.
