Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like we should leave the mountain bikes at home this time around. Just gives us a reason to come back out later this year!

When are you coming? In a week things might be running good again.
Looks like a small storm coming through on Sunday, likely snow in the mountains some precipitation in the valley.
Honestly, the snow is damn good right now. I’d just ride a bunch now and come back in the spring for bikes.

Heading out tomorrow after work and getting to SLC on Saturday. Staying through the following Saturday.

That sounds like a good plan

    not enough.
Currently? No. Eagle Mountain is the only "good" place and that's all relative. It's gonna be either icy or muddy AF.

If you wait maybe, a week or two and we don't get another storm cycle, then eagle mountain will be g2g, depending on temperatures between now and then. But I wouldn't plan on bringing your bike. Unless you're going to make your way down to Moab. But even then, it's a tad on the chillier side at night.

Thank you, that’s good info. We will have to plan another trip for later this year and stick to snowboarding for this one.

Anybody here interested in a Renthal Fat bar? 35mm clamp, 800 width with 30 degree rise. Gold. Brand new. Mounted, but never ridden. Would do $50 shipped or $40 local. DM if interested.

    Edit: it’s alloy, not carbon.

Anyone else ride with yoshimura pedals? How you like them?

been riding these awhile and idk how i feel. They look and feel great. Very little slip though I think the pins are to short ans to fat the really bite into my fivetens but work great on vans. but I think oneup pedals (which i ride on my other bikes) feel and perform better

Calling those with experience at Ride Kanuga.
@whitedlite @SummitBound @Dr. Doom Says and anyone else

I’ll be at the Kanuga Inn with the fam and in-laws for a few days next month. Park riding isn’t really my scene, but when in Rome…

I’m curious if my 130/120 Evil Following would be bike enough for Kanuga, or if it’s worth entertaining renting an E-bike or even a bigger travel bike locally.

The Lake Imaging parking lot looks to only be about 15min away so I likely won’t be passing up the opportunity to get some mileage in DuPont while I’m there. My Following is plenty of bike for that terrain, but I’m not opposed to trying new rides if/when options are available.

    Hey all!

    New to this thread.
    Picked up a used 2019 Santa Cruz 5010 (D) on 27.5" 2.6" for a decent price.
Super stoked to be riding a full suspended as the hard tail isn't fun anymore, if ever.
Needs a couple things but all in all, good deal.

Your bike is fine, it’s mostly flow. Only time your suspension would be overwhelmed is casing a jump. However casing a jump no matter suspension sucks. If you’re there for a day and want a ton of laps I’d say reserve an e bike ahead of time, especially if going alone.

Short travel will be fine. I wouldn’t spend the money on a rental unless it was on an e-bike, you just get so much more riding in when on one. The other benefit is always being fresh for the descents, and the climb taking 5 minutes instead of 30.

DuPont is always great. A black mountain loop is fun, I haven’t ridden there since they reworked upper black. The mills river trails Spencer/Trace Ridge are fun if you want something different from DuPont.

Bought some new shorts from Intense / Thor Assist. Super stoked with these. Best shorts I’ve ever had. Built tuff but breathable, two front zipper pockets that are HUGE. Each one goes two hand lengths plus deep and are wide. Quality tough zipper secure. Made by Thor who made their name in motocross clothing but with an Intense logo. The waist band has a thick rubber enclosed in the fabric on the hips. The crotch region has two air vents for cooling.

Thin fabric but obviously high quality and strong. 95% polyester/ 5% elastane.

I think it’s the pocket storage and zippers that really got me so ramped up.

My riding is going to be so much more improved, faster and more tech enhanced with these. upload_2022-3-13_7-55-45.gif;)

Looking to dip my toe in to a little mixed riding and need a bike for it. Ideally I’d like to be able to do some easy to moderate trails, but I have 7 year old who’s going to want to ride around the neighborhood on weekends too. So I’m trying to find something that can do both without being an insane amount of money, since I’m just gonna be dabbling for now. I currently have a cheapo hybrid and there’s nothing ‘hybrid’ about it in my opinion, I’d never take it anywhere near dirt.

Thoughts on the CO-OP DRT 1.1 from REI?
That $700 price tag is tempting, and from what little I know, the quality seems decent after going and checking one out.
    What say you, bike people?

i would spend the little extra money and find a nice hard tail that 1x and possibly already has a dropper post.

    something like this https://www.chainreactioncycles.com...s-29-vr-mountain-bike-grey-2021/rp-prod195582
