    You are supposed to use something flexible, you're absolutely correct about that but coming 1/2 directly off the compressor is going to create a massive choke point if numerous techs attempt to use tools at the same time. They make flexible 1" air supply line. I would go with that around the entire shop and then do exactly what @Blue92 said.

    Budget permitting, I would install a separator and regulator at each station instead of just atthe beginning. Or just buy a big separator regulator to do after your flexible line from the compressor (the trouble with that is the condensation that will develop in the entire system) particularly humid days will cause your air tools to act like sprinklers

    That kind of sounds like what we have running between 3 warehouses.

    I got line for air tools in the welding shop from 2-3 buildings over.

    man I know is, I bought a 10 pack of flaps for 26 I think and they are thick like diablos. I just spent 20 on 3 diablos.

    gonna test em out tomorrow. I’ll let you know.

    I see, choke points. I don’t think we will be using 1/2” air tools particularly very often. We only use it, really, to remove and install lug nuts on our buses.

    The system is mainly for powering our pneumatic oil pumps, painting and body work, filling and changing tires.

    @BartMaster1234 Regretfully Miguel is absolutely right on the money here.. IMO copper is the best option but maybe I feel that way because I'm an old school kinda builder

    Flexible is less expensive but the unions will wear out quicker than joints that are sweated. Also flexible air line connections create more restrictions in the entire system which can make things like impacts have less torque

    I use air to blow grinder dust off myself and run my press. All m18 baby!

    The reason I’m using the weird Rapidair system is because half of the facility is already plumbed with it. Old Mechanic began to hook it up, and didn’t finish.

    got one. Lol got every m18 except rivet gun.


    we don’t even thread. All gas under 3” is pressed. 3-4 we stick weld. All copper pressed. Plumbing is so much easier these days!
