This may be posted already. If it is I couldn't find it on the first page of results.

Anyway my problem is that I engage the locker and it comes on, I can feel it, but the light in the dash just blinks. I thought it was suppose to stay lit. Is something wrong? or is this how it's suppose to be?

on my 1st gen, it blinks until it's engaged...do you engage the lock, then drive your truck forward or backward a little (10'-15', or so)? if so, does the light still blink?

EDIT: again, and fwiw, on mine it takes "moving" the truck forward/backward a bit to "engage" the lock...once the lock is engaged, the dummy light stays lit (no blinking).

I feel it lock in. I'll have to try it again to see if its still blinking after I drive a little bit.

    prerunner.

@OP, press the lock, then swerve your truck back and forth and get back to us. The way the locker works is, the axles have to be lined up, so swerving will allow for the outside wheel to spin at different rates, so eventually the axles will line up and then lock.

there's not a problem locking. just the light. I can feel it locking when I turn after hitting the button. And I'm in a 4x4 now, I guess I need to change that stuff

I don't think it engaging. You have to be stopped and in 4L. Find dirt and crank the wheel and see if one is breaking loose.

since I did the grey wire mod mine does that also sometimes. Never really worried about why because the locker works fine just irritating to have a blinking light.

Sounds like a bad microswitch in the diff. I believe there is a seperate switch just to tell the computer that the diff is fully locked.
