Does truck have alarm system? Factory? or dealer installed system? Also heard of some radios even if working fine pulling high amps.

Good thinking there. I once helped a girl with a Jetta that was draining the battery. It had an audio amp that was wired incorrectly and was always on.

I’d look at any aftermarket part as culprit.

Sure. Using the video example, If you had a bad connection on the ground wire of the battery( where the cable attaches to the frame?), There would be a resistance at the site of the bad connection. You would have a resistance btween the negative post of the battery and the frame. When you crank the starter, the current flow through the resistance would produce a voltage drop between the negative post and the frame.

The OP is looking for an always flowing current when everything is off. If pulling all of the fuses out of the truck stopped the current flow you could put them back in 1 by 1 watching for the return of the current flow. But there is hopefully an easier way to accomplish this.

Ahh I see now. Being a non electrician minded fellow. It’s hard to keep that all oriented in my brain (I’m gonna forget as soon as I fall asleep lol). He can just measure (amperage?) across its fuse and see if she’s flowin pixies? Instead of pulling each one, etc.

Sounds good but that won't work. There is no resistance in the fuse (unless it is blown) so current will just flow through the fuse(not the meter).

Yeh it's Amps, I tried Voltage and the read didn't change when disconnecting the short pin.

I tested the interior fuses, having my gf monitor the reading while I was pulling fuses. No drop in current... Gonna test the exterior ones again tomorrow. I'll check out that vid. Thanks man

When checking for a draw you use amps

Because a parasitic draw on a battery is measured in amps being drawn. Go watch some Youtube videos...I provided a link in a prior post. When it comes to automotive electricity a lot of people are uninformed.

Another way of doing this is to pull a fuse and then take the DC amp reading where the fuse goes. But you have to be careful not to cause a short. I did this just the other day after I hooked up my new trailer wire kit on my Tacoma. I was concerned that since there was a direct wire from the kit control box to the battery positive, and also a ground from that control that there could be some kind of draw. Since the unit provided for a fuse that I had not yet inserted, I took a reading using the female fuse prongs. The reading was zero, so I inserted the fuse.

I think I conflated some things in my mind. I should resist technical jargon after such a long day. Haha.
