The "BTW i ordered wheels" conversation was fun. But she actually loves the truck, so think I'm good as I keep sneaking parts through the bank account lol.

Recently had a leer topper installed on my truck to the tune of $4200 (Alaska). Anyway, my truck is Lunar Rock and I’m not sure I’m satisfied with the color match, but I’m wondering if this is enough variation for Leer to repaint it, or if I’m just expecting too much.

How close does this look to you all? Anybody with a Lunar Rock topper care to post a picture of theirs?

I originally posted this in the topper forum but figured I’d have better luck here.

It's definitely a better match than some I have seen and I'm not paint guy but I believe the color will change slightly. I also don't know shit about this, just have heard a little bit about paint match issues, so take what I say with a grain of salt lol. Personally, if I spent that much money it better be perfect or they better have a good explanation why it isnt

Interesting what you said about the paint changing a little. I know some colors are also harder to match than others, I’ve heard silvers are a pain.

If I paid $500 on Craigslist for this it would be one thing, but for $4200, I think im going to go back to the Leer dealer and air my grievances.

100%, I would definitely talk to them and let them know that you're unhappy with it for what you paid

Put my deposit down this morning Lunar Rock TRD Off Rd 4x4. 4 to 6 months until delivery they said. Did they say how long you'd have to wait for yours?

Not a LR owner, but a Leer owner. I went into the Leer with low expectations on color match. It is hard to get it right by code alone. I really doubt Leer can fix it. If you look at the paperwork there are all sorts of disclaimers about why color will be off. I just had a friend (auto painter) re-paint mine and the match is much better. He even filled the recess where the emblem goes.

Mine was already allocated to the dealer, they approximated early April. it was manufactured feb 28th and will be here on March 22nd. Trying to remain calm, cool and collected but failing.

Sick man! The e46 m3 is what got me into m3s. I saw a Phoenix yellow one blow past the car I was in when I was a kid and fell in love haha

It's strange, I've seen every other color incl lime rush, but never lunar rock on a taco, and I live in turd pro country.

I think e36s are probably one of the best cars to own

Our 328ti was my fav car that we no longer have, kw suspension, m52, LSD diff swap, if we ever sell the e30, I'm building another one.
