SteamSpeed 76R. It's not listed on the website but it's very similar to the STX 76+ with 3" inlet and 10cm housing. The tuner specified it based on my planned use and power goals.

    https://steamspeed.com/products/steamspeed-stx-76-turbo-for-subaru-wrx-sti-10cm-ported

Scoop will actually show up Monday next week. I kinda dig the bigger scoop. The main reason I wanted that was for more airflow going thru the top mount oil cooler. Living in Tucson, I'm going to need all the cooling I can get during the summers.

Still nothing major updates wise. Waiting on parts. I need to get with the tuner/garage next week to see if the heads have come in or anything else that I ordered thru them. Turbo, injectors, intake pipe. I also have a new Android head unit coming so didn't reinstall the old head unit.

In the mean time, the new hood scoop has arrived. It's damn big too but I really like it. At least for now. Have to see what it's like driving with it still. Fortunately, it's easy enough to change if I so decide.

Twill weave matte carbon fiber. Can't wait to repaint the damn silver hood back to the original WRB!

Today I spent the whole day installing the new gauges and getting them working correctly. Found the perfect spot to route the wires, next to the clutch master cylinder. Just had to cut the slits in the rubber plug. The jute padding on the firewall there already had slits cut into it from the factory. I'll have to wait to drop the engine in to finish routing the rest of the gauge wiring under the hood.

Mounted the boost pressure sensor to the fuse box with a couple rivets.

Gauges are all Prosport JDM series 52mm/2 1/16". I like the look and they work well. In the SMY cluster pods are coolant temp and oil pressure and in the ATI triple dash pod are oil temp, boost pressure and a clock. All gauges, except the analog clock, are both analog and digital. Don't have the need to have EGT or AFR. If I was e-tuning, then I'd of course run an AFR but otherwise, don't need one.

More progress today, just not on the engine stuff. I sanded all the silver off the trunk. Even with the paint messed up from sanding, it looks 1000 times better now with the silver gone. Still have more sanding to do before priming and painting but I'm very pleased with how it's progressing.

    The way it was.

Removing the silver. LOTS of sanding...

    Silver all gone :jellydance:

And reinstalled for the time being. Safest place for it to be and out of the way until I can work on it some more. Huge difference tho, I dig it.

The silver was really an eyesore; that's looking 100 times better already!

    The waiting game continues.

First thing this morning, I sprayed the new CF hood scoop with a couple good coats of matte clear. While that was drying, I went to the tuner/garage that I'm working with, as I had some questions and was looking for updates.

    • Turbo: Still waiting to hear back from SteamSpeed as to if they are going to be able to furnish the turbo they said they had in stock.
    • Injectors and KB hard inlet: Should be early next week. The trucker strike is causing lots of issues with things being delivered in a timely manner.
    • Heads: Back at the machine shop for the porting they didn't do the first time around. Hopefully have those next week as well.
    • APR 625+ head studs: No one seems to have them in stock right now, including ARP. Hopefully soon.
    • Things that I ordered myself, separate from the tuner: Top mount oil cooler, still waiting for tracking on that. New head unit is the same story and why the shifter console and center dash are still torn apart. I do have tracking for the new spoiler and badges for the trunk at least. Hopefully everything arrives when it should and there is no damage.

Ordered up new OEM ignition coils and a new Cobb intake system while I was at the tuners. Also bought the Cobb coolant reservoir relocation kit they had in stock. Installed that when I got home.

I really like this setup. It takes up very little room and is out of the way. The small hose replaces the filler neck of the OEM washer fluid reservoir. Clean little package all together.

Earlier in the week, I had received the new steering wheel I bought of a guy on one of the Discord servers that I'm on. Really like this wheel. It's wrapped in alcantara and feels great. Installed that after I finished with the coolant reservoir.

Then it was back to working on the trunk lid. Gave it a good wet sand in 400 grit and decided that should be good enough for painting. Started with the underside, which only needed some touch up in a few places and I wanted to hit the underside edges some as well. Painted and clear coated. I'm leaving it to dry over night and will mask off the underside in the morning so that I can start priming and painting the outside.

Lol! Hell no, I am not cutting into the roof of this car. With Subaru just announcing that the STi series is dead, this car is just going to appreciate (I hope) over the years and I want to keep it kind of stock looking.

They will be done. I had bought a set of used tails that someone had done a shitty job of making smoked and clear coating. I tried sanding it off but when I let them dry overnight, I found that the lenses had cracked for some reason. Just trashed them. Total waste of money. I'll buy new OEM 04/05 tails here soon tho.

I have spent most of my time off roading in New Mexico lately. That and running around in my Forester as much as I can, I love driving that car. I can't imagine how much fun yours is to drive, especially when you get it all put back together.

Yup, it's a fact. If they come out with another one, it's gunna be hybrid or EV only and not for a couple more years at least.

I had meant to say 02-05 wrx skirts, in place of the 04-07 sti skirts

the wrx one is just a more bold round skirt, and it works well with some of the oem canards available
the sti one sits a bit higher more tucked up in a way

you've probably seen it before without noticing the difference, it was a popular mod when the wrx/sti wing swap craze took over

you putting the wrx wing back on? wingless, source new oem wing?? or any of the other wing option?
