4Runner Seat Adapters

Just added, I live on an island its terrible to find tacoma buckets and when they do come up they are gone quick.

 

@foothill96tacoma was nice enough to set up that poll so I will start making more this week. I have the list of everyone that is interested and I’ll reach out once I’ve got them ready.

 

Assuming I made it on to the list....

Never too late, the list was just to make sure there was enough interest for me to make more.

I do have an update (not a good one).

I went to start cutting these out on the waterjet and our machine is operating at low pressure. I have been working with the company to try and diagnose the issue, but they haven't gotten back to me yet with a solution. Therefore I won't be able to cut these out until next week at the earliest.

Finally got the machine working correctly today and was able to do some cuts. I'll see if I can get the first batch completely cut tomorrow. I then have to paint/package them, so I'd say this weekend at the earliest.

Just an update, I was able to cut a bunch of these and I should have a few sets ready to go this weekend. I'm going to start just going through the list and contacting people when I have a set packed and ready.

Out of curiosity, what's your opinion on seat height between the T4Rs and stock Tacoma seats?

T4R sit noticeably higher

@nzbrock or anyone else can chime in too.

 

I looked at these brackets and still have questions.

1. How would I use this bracket in conjunction with the T4R seats? Seems like you've have to grind the T4R mounting brackets off the seat rails then somehow bolt(?) them to this plantedtechnology bracket?

2. For a $180 custom bracket (for one side) it seems a bit ridiculous that you would still have to customize the fit by drilling another hole in your tranny hump. Am I not reading it correctly?

 

Yes sir, just trying to make sure everyone sees it.

 

Those aftermarket brackets are not for 4runner seats, they are for aftermarket bucket seats only. Only regular cabs will needs an extra mounting hole drilled since they did not come with buckets from the factory, but there is a nifty dimple left by the factory showing where to drill. 4runner seats do not bolt in without some grinding, drilling, and hammering and even adding an adapter as in this thread.

 

Just to update everyone, I’m honestly just waiting for shipping boxes from USPS. I haven’t had a chance to get to the post office to grab some since they close at 3pm around here. I also ordered some 2 weeks ago but they haven’t even shipped yet.
