Hood struts are great, right? How do the hood lights work, are they switched from the drivers seat, where did you get them? Nice job on the modification pointing the lights toward the engine and not your eyes!

Good idea! The box on the fender opens up easily also to clear any garbage it picks up.

 

I relocated my backup camera and got a tad creative on what to do with the vacant hole that the camera was located in the tailgate…

The struts are way better than lifting the hood manually and using to prop rod.

The light are

$92 KC HiLiTES 355 Cyclone LED Universal 2-Light Under Hood Wiring Kit

KC cyclones.

Order a strut prop switch to turn them on and off automatically when the hood is lifted. The KC kit come with a toggle switch that I will probably add for a manual override as a back up in case the other type fails. I am sure you could find a way to wire this to the hood ajar sensor, but didn't put that much effort into it.

 

Make sure you keep the prop rod in place for when the struts eventually begin to fail.

 

You could get some of these FN FX Pro in bronze and matte gray

i plan on taking out the support rod and hanging it on my garage wall so it doesn't rattle under the hood

I noticed improved acceleration due to better air flow but I already had the silicone intake tube installed beforehand.

 

Damn. I just turned over 50,000 and have had mine for over 4 years
