My TRD pro March 9th-11th ETA has been bumped now to the 29th-31st.. Super frustrating as the truck has been sitting at the Toronto area rail yard 30 mins from my house already for 2-3 weeks and now it will sit there for another 3+. My sales guy says it’s waiting to have the heated seats installed which are added at the port and are in short supply right now.

Seems like Toyota has been holding back the PRO for some reason as there’s almost zero out in the wild.
I would go and see if you can actually see the truck as I’m pretty sure the heated seats are done at factory…

I have had the permanent VIN for 3 weeks and the Toyota pipeline print off that states at local rail port waiting for final delivery. The sales guy suspected it’s the heated seats which I have also read other posts say it’s a port addition for various regions in the states, but it could also be for other items as well.

When I sign in with the Toyota owners app and put in my VIN it shows the truck now has 2km on the odometer which just appeared this week.

Hopefully you get it soon, waiting is the hardest part especially when it’s this close. I ordered mine in Sept 17 and it arrived end of Jan 18 that being before all the new issues with all that’s going on in the world .
Post some licks when you get it .

Ya that's not good. Heated seats is an issue with some other brands. Jeep has been sending $70K Wranglers/Gladiators to dealers with no heated seats or heated steering wheels.

I almost feel like asking my dealer to have the truck shipped without them if that’s even allowed. It has to be -15 or colder before I even use my seats and even then I never keep them on longer than 5 mins.

My tired old back needs the heated seats. I understand the sentiment. I'm eager to get my Pro unicorn, too.

In your guys experience, how long did it take for the shipping to Canada take? Roughly?

so far I’ve heard anywhere from 2 weeks to 7 weeks or more.
i asked my dealer but they said they didn’t know. Lol which I thought was a really odd response.

    Hi All
I've been following this thread as I've been waiting on a manual TRD Pro since I "ordered" one in April of last year and wanted to give an update as it seems we're all looking for information. You might consider this a message of hope....or not.
I placed an order with my regular dealer in April 2021. My sales guy said it would take forever (if at all) to get a Pro in manual; I said I'd wait....he said he'd try. I knew that there are challenges getting this setup and that another option was to look at other dealers with higher sales volumes in hopes of an allocation but I was in no rush and figured I'd wait it out. Just found out today that the order is confirmed (allocation made) and will get it in mid May. So 11 months wait for from "order" to confirmation; 13 months from "order" to delivery (expected). The good news is that you can get one if you wait; the bad news is that you wait.
While I was waiting I picked up an TRD Offroad last June and it looks like I'm going to be able to trade it in at same value that I bought it for......not a bad deal.
I'm feeling lucky that I landed this. I know this setup is rare but not sure how rare......if anyone does please let me know. Cheers.

Just wait and get your truck the way you want it, you’ll only end up being annoyed after a few days wishing you had heated seats or whatever…
These things, for what they are, are already overpriced. Might as well get what you want.

What Colour did you get. Did you get a choice. I was looking for a long time as well. A Pro auto came up so I took it. Get it in 3 weeks. Today my original dealer called me and said they just got an allocation for a 6MT pro if I want it. Now just have to decide on which one to keep. I got a deal on the auto. Electric Lime Green. The manual is Black. I know I can trade in the auto for a bit more then msrp. But if I want the manual there’s no deal because how hard they are to come by. Or walk from the auto and take the manual. But if I can take the auto and drive for a few months for free why not.

It is weird for sure. I originally wanted a sport 6MT. I kind of missed out on a few just by not acting fast enough. I was going to order one and wait with my dealer that I have been working with. One day on my way home I stopped at a different dealer was, told, the same thing. Gotta order one. But if you don’t want to wait we have pro. The next day I called my original salesman and told him what happened. He said if you want a pro I’ll get you one. I thought he was full of it to be honest. Gave me a line of I have an in and can get you one. I hung up the phone and called the dealer with the auto pro and left a deposit. 4 days go buy and my salesman calls and said I got you a 6MT Pro it’s black. No choice in colour but a 6MT. It will be here in 2-3 months. I’m still in shock kind of. Just need to decide what to do

Sounds like the only decision is if you can wait for the MT or if you need a truck immediately.

I don’t need a truck right away. It’s a want. Sold my last one so the wife could get a bigger suv. It’s weird as soon as I made a deal on the PRO auto there have been a few trucks become available. The salesman that called to say he got a 6MT Pro also said they got a sport 6MT land Friday that is unspoken for.

I met with him yesterday, he said either truck is mine but I need to let him know Monday. He offered a bit more then msrp for the auto on trade. The sport is there and I can pick it up once the auto pro comes in or if I want to wait the 2-3 months for the 6MT PRO he will give me the same trade value on the auto.

Hold out for the 6MT pro! Obviously they are rare but combine that with the fact they’ll be unavailable in manual likely very soon and it’s an easy choice imo..

That’s probably what I will do. But I will take the auto Pro either way. Dealer wanted a non refundable 2k deposit which I already gave so I don’t want to loose my deposit. Plus the other dealer with the 6MT already gave me a guaranteed trade value on the auto Pro. So I won’t lose any money. So I can drive the auto for a few months basically for free for 3 months till the 6MT arrives. Just don’t know if I’m better off taking the sport 6MT. It’s 10k cheaper. But I’m thinking a few years down the road the PRO 6MT May hold its value better. I can sell the auto for more then what they will give me on trade but I won’t have anything to drive for a few months. I’m not really complaining considering how often do you even have a chance to even get a PRO.

How much are people paying in doc fees? Only just starting to scope out a 22, first & closest dealer to me wants MSRP+$1k in doc fees.

Edit: Also, does anyone know what I'm missing between the Trail and TRD OR trims? I've scoured the spec sheets+build & price tool and it seems like I"d be paying more for the Trail to get less content compared to the OR?

My guess is that MT Pro will always be worth more than the auto when it comes to resale value. Almost to the point that it may become "collector" level more expensive than the auto. There are so few produced and as mentioned above, there's a good chance they only continue to get more rare, if not completely discontinued.
From a practical standpoint, would you rather have a MT or AT? That probably should factor in first and foremost, it's not like you're buying this truck solely as an investment and either way the resale will hold up well.
