MESO X MORIMOTO Full LED Tail lights

just OEM, have been waiting on these haha but the time is almost here! im sure ill be happy with my decision!

 

Are the OEMs for your year Taco the Reds? I can see why you would want the lens style.

I couldn't find a good pic of the Reds except this one with an arrow pointing towards an area that will be blacked out.

 

Anyone have a newer video?

 

I did the same.... Maybe I'll visit the guy that tinted my windows and see about tinting them...

I went with clear as well. Reason being that it looks similar to what I have on my Sport now and if I ever wanted to I could have it wrapped in red or a light smoked. Though my daughter loves the reflective hex patterns too. I was actually thinking of meeting her halfway and going with this -

The wait is definitely worth it! I can not freaking wait to get my set from Meso!

 

That is kind of the reason why I went with the Clears. The internals on the Reds look to be a silver to light gunmetal, which reminds me of the 2016-2017 chrome innards taillights.


Since the Clear's internal are blacked out, if I wanted it to look like my Meso Ultimate Reds then I could go the red tint route.

 

I could be wrong on this, but I do believe that both the red and clear versions will have the same color internals, which would make sense in simplicity of production standpoint, maybe.

Also, since people are talking about tinting the clear lenses red as opposed to getting the version with the red lense, I believe Meso did say at one point that the color of the turn signals would be slightly altered so they appear yellow, or orange, or whatever color the turn signals are supposed to be. Will need to do some digging to confirm.

Edit: Yes, Meso does state that the red lense version does have slightly altered turn color to produce the amber color out put. Page 5, post 85.

 

Going by these two images from Meso, the internals appear to be different colors. The clears being black and the reds having a silverish grey finish.


As for the Amber signal through the red tint. I was thinking of just the side of the lens and not the face to retain full performance. But that may look jank lol.

If I do go full red tint, then the signal would maybe revert back to red, which would then be same as every other car in NA. Then brakes would be blood red.

 

The images are different, but Meso mentions on Page 2, post 21, that the red will look darker once the insides are painted black. Page 3, post 50 has a comparison of what I think is OEM tails to OEM with blacked out internals.

As for the amber turn, just thought I'd let you or anyone else know it might alter the color once tinted incase it might be a deciding point. At least tinted clears can be reverted back to clear if you don't like the red tint.

Might double dip and buy the reds if they look similar to my current Meso Ultimates. I do love the look of the "pipe" being visible and standing out.

I didn't even have my Tacoma 6 months ago. I ended up seeing someone local post theirs in their vehicle and reached out to a local vendor and got lucky.

Mine should be arriving this week according to the latest update. Nobody could have forecasted all the delays but that’s part of the preorder process. You get a guaranteed spot but the wait is unknown. Honesty I’m surprised between mine and their container only being a week apart with all other variables. I want to thank everyone who ordered though me and stuck it out. I’ll probably be including something extra with each order. Until next/final update

 

I preordered through Tacomabeast, are you sending the taillights to them after you get the shipment?

 

I would hope that they are drop shipped by meso???
