I’ll have a line on a set in about a month and can send them north with @boogie3478 if you can wait that long. They’ll be for sale for $250 I believe, would have to ask my friend to confirm. I can also weld some gussets on them beforehand if desired.

Sheehy Toyota in Stafford quoted me MSRP on a Tacoma allocation. That dealership (Sheehy) selling at MSRP has since been refuted in the big 2022 waiting time thread, so YMMV apparently. I worked with the same salesman that sold me my 2017, so maybe that had something to do with them quoting me MSRP? Who knows. Regardless, good luck!

 

Update - I didn't want to have to trust a dealer and I wanted to find out myself, so I bought the $20 TIS subscription. Below is what I found (blue=important, orange=interesting). I'll likely have Sheehy Toyota work on it. I think they botched the recall (or maybe I botched something when I broke my rear glass) and if it related, hopefully they'll comp the parts/labor.

 

I subscribed to TIS also and they were a lot of help with navigating through the software with what I wanted to do. It's really helpful to see the details of your own vehicle!!

 

Can’t agree more. Takes a second to figure it out but it’s fairly straightforward. Now I need to service everything while I have the manual and can save the legit instructions hah.

 

Does TIS also include access to the FSM and wiring diagrams too?

 

Yes to the wiring diagrams. Is there a "manual friendly" word for FSM?
This is for your year model, I think.

 

FSM is just the OEM repair manual. Here's one example of it. Has pretty much everything in there and is the official Toyota documentation for doing repairs.

That's good to know. I have access to the whole 2005 tacoma FSM through an internet archive but I've been wondering where to get the legit version if the archive disappears.

I had good luck with Toyota of Gaithersburg. Only a $700 markup on my wife's Rav4. Springfield Toyota wanted 49k for a premium Rav4. We laughed and walked away. Went to Gaithersburg the next day and were home with her Rav in a couple hours.

 

If you want to take the time, you could download all of that info in a few hours. It'll be labor-intensive but could be worth it.
