What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

My 86' came with a DS handle, factory base. The 02' has them on both sides and my son's 2015 has both as well, he wouldn't have bought it if it didn't.

 

Just finally starting to break it in...

 

Plasti dipped the entire truck, both with camo green and black. Added a 3" suspension lift and 3110/50-15 tires.

 

Digging that color combo.

 

Did my first side entry motor install. Was gonna go with PT motor mounts but will prob use doug fur to save a few sheckels.

 

Truck turns 23 today around noon eastern.

Now that's some hindsight.

I put some superblightleds.com bulbs in my reverse lights, but they still aren't the brightest things.

Got the Marlin short shift installed today.

reduces the shift throw by 40 percent
Makes the stock sloppy shifts nice and tight

Super easy to do in less than an hour.

After a 5 month wait and the trucking co. losing it, I finally got my Shrockworks rear bumper and installed today. Outstanding quality product.

 

I put non ethanol in the truck for the first time 4.10 vs 4.56 for regular in Washington.... Logic is out the window

Had to cut 4 trees, and drive over 2 trees (twice).

Winched once, winch shit the bed the second time I was going to pull. At that point we turned around and hoped for the best. Trip out was dicy.






@Blue Canary is a friggen warrior. I was plowin a trail for him, but with no lockers, it was all up to him to keep his momentum/wheel speed/etc working. Especially climbing out.

Got back to the main road just as the sun was setting.

Gas light was shining at me just as we got back to Toualumne.

 

Sure, I will put the story in the "uncommon mods" thread, might be a while.
In the mean time, it's two flat lamps joined/soldered together. Each lamp on its own is better but not earth shattering, hence the use of two lamps per side. The "mount", short extension pigtail and socket adapter for a bayonet or wedge socket makes up the bulk of the story.

The thing about these lamps is all the LEDs face one direction, no reliance on the inefficient reflector and they are not polarized.
Originally bought the 10 pack/$12 for the interior light of the camper shell, they are big in the RV interior lighting world.

Has anyone mounted a Badland Apex 12,000 pound winch in a Trail Gear bumper?

How was the fit?

 

The 12k XPower winch, basically the same shell, fit behind my bumper, I don’t think you’d have a problem.
