That list looks about right. The welds are straight forward with fairly easy access. Take your time and think about the positioning of that top mount. Keep in mind that the strap will stretch a little bit.

Sounds good. I also ordered a 1” diff drop kit from ToyTec.

Since I shelled out for new OEM ($$$) CVs, I really don’t want them to break again.

Has anyone actually reported any problems from a diff drop? I was reading people speculate it could wear out U joints faster due to a different angle on the drive shaft.

My hope is the limit straps will help a little (ensure no catastrophic failure), less lift will help a little (less wear and tear in normal driving), and the diff drop will help a little (less wear and tear in normal driving, and maybe allows more travel before the limit strap is hit)

The only real issue I've had with my diff drop was having it block the long bolt that fits through the steering rack so I couldn't remove it when I needed to replace the rack bushings. But I just grinded the flange down on the bolt until it cleared.

Some say diff drops wear the diff mount bushings out faster.

Overall I personally don't think diff drops are worth the trouble, after I installed mine I noticed zero difference. They really don't 'drop' the diff at all, they just tilt it forward a tad.

Hmm, well, I already ordered the kit, so I guess I’ll try it (and I’ll try to measure).

Any chance ya’ll know what rod I should use to weld the kartek bracket on? I’ll be getting a 220v DC welder from Harbor Freight called Titanium Stick 225

Use a 7018 rod if you're using stick

    4 run, 2 don't
Either, just know you need to push it and watch your heat when going vertical.

Way different than running flat. Not to mention slag build up. But it's a small weld anyway.
