That's a fake. At least it checks all the boxes as counterfeit. Let's see if it continues to work. My fake took a while before it threw a code. The one I got from O'Reilly's looks different and is legit.

Yep, v2 of the Gashole is too tight. It requires 2 hands to get it in there and that twists it

i found this on the interweb, just what i want to do but is this doable on our trucks. sounds easy, but. tapping into the drivers door pin switch???

My car came with an alarm system, however, opening the fuel filler cap does NOT activate the alarm. I added a pin switch to my fuel filler cap and tapped it into the driver's door pin switch. Now, when someone attempts to steal fuel and opens my fuel filler door, my car thinks someone is opening the car door and activates the alarm.

Plastic keys, no raised S on the cap and the printing on the cap isn't right. Though this one isn't like the two fakes I bought I still bet it's fake

I’ve had one on two Tacomas and it never threw a check engine light. Bought it from Oriellys.

I got mine from oriellys too. I think the same exact one. Never had an issue. But the key is all metal.

    Yup
Post #61 I posted the pics of the real O'Riley's one and the fake ones (2 identical) that set of the CEL.

The one from O'Riley's has not ever set off anything. You do need to turn it 3 clicks.
Close to 2 months now no issues.
I leave the cap all all the time.

Yep, the telltale from the bogus has always been plastic topped keys and no embossed "S". Different printed writing, too. No embossing of the print.

This is a legit O'Reilly's buy...like TacoMike mentioned...

I am using the one you linked to on Etsy and it works perfectly with the OEM cap or the Stant locking cap. It's a great product, easy install and it stays put. Highly recommended.

Picked one up from O'Reillys and it came with plastic keys. Let's see if it pops a code.

I went out to see if I could get the screw out of my gas door before I placed a order on the cradle type holder. The screw is froze in place so I guess the Gasshole will be on my truck until I get rid of it. Damn I was really wanting one of those cradle gas cap holders. :(

UPDATE: Tried Liquid Wrench on the screw with no luck so I grabbed the Gasshole and broke the fother mucker off the gas door. :) Cradle gas cap holder is back on the wish list.

As of today it's confirmed.. check light went on. I scanned it and yup, EVAP code. O'Reilly gave me a fake. I return it and they don't have anymore in stock. I went to a different O'Reilly and I was shocked. They open 3 boxes and all 3 look different. None of it was the correct one.. guess I'm just gonna give up on finding the correct one.
