The cv is about 4” and these boots are 4.5”. I stared at them for a bit and thought about using something underneath kinda like when doing the boot stretch mod with a piece of old OEM boot rubber, but the stock Tundra/ Sequoia inner is drastically smaller because of the original flange it sits on so it won’t work. The 930 boots are somewhat thin and just don’t look like they’ll be thick enough to take up that much extra slack. I have the correct boots showing up tomorrow from Kartek that are a bit smaller in diameter. At this point, I just want the right boot on there and be done with it.

Nope, junkyard pull from a 2005 Sequoia. It has the right joints on it and is OEM as far as I can tell. I have a second one identical to it. This is the only photo I have of the whole axle.

The Kartek boot you mentioned only fits the larger diameter section above ewhat you circled. Post #123 shows that boot installed and it’s not a direct fit.

You mean the metal lip underneath? Yeah I already cut that off and used a file to de-burr it. The standard diameter of a 930 boot not fitting is my issue.

That’s what I find odd. Many people pull it off without issue but that Tundra forum link I posted shows that there is an issue many people have ran across. It makes me think there are slight differences between axles on 2000-2006 Tundra and similar year Sequoias. Not sure if it’s model specific or perhaps the early years vs the mid gen update years of 05-06 (for Tundras specifically).

I just got in these boots. They are made to fit the stock Tundra inner flange that’s much smaller than the one the 930 boot slips over closer to the inner axle joint. That same stock flange also gets cut off when modifying these axles for more down travel and to run the bigger 930 boot to allow for a better range of motion. Are you using this boot for LT or a stock Tundra suspension?

    I’m using this boot

with these axles on my long travel 1st gen.

In my experience this set up has worked well and is not a limiting factor in droop (UCA hitting upright/uniball is limiting factor)

Does anyone run a longer bolt for the UCA with the coil tower gussets? I've got not that much thread engagement on mine with the nut.

If your gussets are 3/16 yeah then there's not much left - a couple guys have done this with 9/16 bolts:

That said you only need 6 turns to get full engagement

    Yessir! Pretty much exactly.

Not a half bad idea. A buddy of mine said I should look at the 2nd gen UCA bolt. It's about an inch longer or so.

I was tinkering with the idea
But wanted to see some one else do it first
Might want to plate the inside or fully weld the sleeve
