Does anyone know where I could order this blue mat stuff that’s under the carpet (or a suitable replacement)? I got mine wet (water through the seat bolts) when i slide into a ditch about 4 months ago and despite my best efforts at drying it, it still had a bit of a smell.

Part of the carpet, can’t buy it. It’s a cheap sound deadening. I removed mine and replaced with Noico 80 mil (2mm) 36 (3.4 sqm) sqft car Sound deadening mat, Butyl Automotive Sound Deadener, Audio Noise Insulation and dampening https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00URUIKAK...t_i_MJNWV90R4J8PC4FTH8RT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you! Was just one box (unit, whatever the hell they’re measured in) enough for the truck?

if you are doing floors and back wall of the truck one box should be enough, if you plan on door cards, firewall, etc... you may need extra, all depends on how you cut and lay it. I used 2 boxes to do everything except for the roof and had some left. Also get the roller and wear thick gloves, this stuff is very sharp. I also installed foam liner on top of the butyl. Still have to do the roof some day, but it's much quieter compared to Lexus and Germans.

When the floors started to rust out in my highlander i used the Blueskin membrane they sell at Homedepot and it did a decent job... it was suprisingly quieter aswell.

I used the Noico sound deadening and Noico sound/thermal insulation.
I did the floor, back wall, doors, and the roof (Roof window so a lot less surface area to cover then without one.)
Managed it with two boxes of each with a bit to spare.
(Still need to go back and finish the footwells.)

Rollers will indeed make your life exponentially simpler and easier.
The stuff is indeed VERY sharp. The edges are.
Gloves will help let you avoid bloody cuts.

Got my M2 in Oct 2020, new licensed never arrived in the mail. Got it re-issued Jan 2021 before my 3- month paper copy expired.
Fast forward March 2022, my license issue dated Oct 2020 arrives in the mail....1 year, 5 months, 1 week after being issued.

Not gonna hold my breath for my plate sticker refund to show up anytime soon.

Did some bicycle tuneups myself yesterday. I used one free bike to repair two other free bikes I dragged out of ditches last year. High-five for salvageable parts hoarding!

    i'm in a little more

    ambitious

position with this bike. had it for nearling 10 years and has seen nearly every part of Hammertown mountain and the escarpment. I replacing with parts off my brothers old bike which is the same model just a smaller frame.
Replaced the front fork and cleaned up with new bearings, replaced the rear suspension, half a can of fluid film, WD40, replaced front and rear derailers, Rear pivot was seized and managed to loosen that up.

    IMG_20220313_172307203.jpg

Only thing i cant fix/ replace if the front gears. seized right to shit and nothing i can do to dislodge them. but they sping with a little resistance so i'm not gonna fuck around and find out.

Just got the rear derailer tensioned.

That’s awesome! Love a bike with a long service life. I’ve never torn a bicycle that far apart with the intention of repairing it. More power to you buddy!

I do have a “good bike” that I have attachment to for similar reasons, buuut unfortunately it has been hanging from my ceiling since I had kids. I am strongly hoping to get it onto a trail this year, but it’s the easiest activity to chop off the list :( (by my wife). So I compensate by riding my garbage bikes around the block with my kids, and riding wheelies up and down the street making the neighbour kids jealous :bikewheelie2:

Good luck! I worked within 3km of my home for 8 years, and rode my bicycle less than 20 times over that span. Now I work 25kms away....Golden opportunity lost (only because I refuse to try that ride into my current work)

Its been a long time since i broke it down to the bearings and i'm glad that i did, lots of mud, dirt, and bugs got into some strange places and i've neglected it for the last 2-3 years since getting the truck. Time did not treat it well and even after the montage yesterday rebuilding it; i know i need new link cables and certainly have to rebuild the drive gear. I worry about the axles as the rubber covers for the bears themselves have deteriorated. New tires and inner tube most likely as well.
i got it 90% there and I figured, if repairs costs as much as a new bike - i'll get a new one but i'm fortunate to have a spare bike of the same model that was hardly used to be able to repair it. so getting a shop to take a look at it now shouldn't be too pricey since my Sister is getting some repairs done to hers.

This is actually my hated bike since it nearly broke my arm after Taco-ing the front tire in an intersection. on top of that i hate everything about it :cookiemonster:
it's not an abusive relationship but it's more like an old shitbox you hate but rely on and is still worth repairing. so figured to give it a proper birthday this time around.

my "good" bike is in a similar state but too far gone to repair at this point.

we'll get a ride team going for TEC soon enough with @Saturnine as the leader. if we can't hit the trails by trucks, there are still good trails for bikes!
