Relocating stock air box

Is it possible? I am talking the box itself, I understand different tubing would need to be used to connect the box to the manifold, but is that even possible?

Are you talking about the intake box on the fender, or the air filter box before the TB? Would also help to understand what you're trying to get done since theoretically it's definitely possible.

 

This is my problem:


I want to relocate the air box the the passenger side fender area where there is room, and connect my soon to be snorkel to it. Right now my strut tower brace blocks the possibility of connecting tube to my factory intake.

 

Unless the box is in a different location than the AFE, it wont fit because of my CO tower. So my options are, built a custom watertight box for the filter and run custom tubing with a CAI, or relocate factory box.

I am fine with both, whichever works best is what I will go with. If I could find a box that fit there I would bite in a heartbeat

I am ok with fabbing a box for a CAI filter setup, but I would be just as happy putting the stock air box in that space and running new tubing to it...

Is boxing out that strut brace an option? You could use welded plate to make a box around the tubing and retain the stock set-up. Maybe an option if you're more comfortable working with metal than plastic but you'd have to cut up that brace.

 

id say take out that top brace and make one outa tubing and then u should have more than enough room for it to be in the stock location

 

That's an awesome looking brace. Why didn't you route it angled forward some? Technical issue? Strength? It seems most have it angled forward.
