Damn near everything I can do I had to teach myself -- that tends to refine ones ability to research as well.

As soon as I read it I knew that the last convertible was 69 -- I worked on a pile of those cars back in the day.

Same here, can't really afford to outsource anything, so I gotta do it myself. That's why I enclosed the carport all myself. Just cost me materials and alcohol.

I took the heap out for a drive and cleaned up a bit. Now going to clean the corn husks and what not from the cubby hole where it gets parked. 20220313_162039.jpg

Yes, that will need a good underside wash too. Jeep will too when it gets just a little warmer. The wife drove the Jeep a few times whilst I was out of town.

Mine hasn't been out of the garage since November...

As we were gifted with about a foot of snow (and the accompanying salt) it isn't going anywhere for a bit.

So found the culprit; wife tells me the hamburger concoction used in the slider recipe used a package of lipton onion soup mix.

I like to use the Lipton Ranch packet in a mix of ground chuck for burgers occasionally!

Hi Rusty! I may post some fun pictures of steel (copper/ nikle) brake line fabrication soon. I haven't crawled around underneath this old K5 yet but expect some bad brake lines. I haven't made one before but watched a video and have the tools inherited from grandfather. It doesn't look too difficult to do, and much cheaper than pre-bent lines if I can master the flare tool.

I've just purchased pre-bent lines for anything I've worked on before. Those get expensive, especially the stainless steel variety, then with the factory style steel wrap around them$$$

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
That Copper /Nickle line is a joy to work with about all I use since I discovered it.

    Made lots of brake lines.

I found the trick is a Good Flaring block that holds the line tight when doing the second step with the adapter .

I got so frustrated the line would just push through the block .

Spent the money got a Good flaring tool no more problems
