The odds of a tweaker siphoning gas out of tanks if pretty slim nowadays… most tanks are plastic and cordless drills are cheap.

I don't read the reviews. Most of them are made by people that don't have nothing better to do than trash a product by writing false reviews. But hey, that is your choice. I have had this one on 2 different Tacoma's with no issues. I don't 3 click mine either. 1 click and nary a code has been thrown.

    Have a good evening.

You do have a point that some don't have better things to do then a bad review.. I'll put it on my list and see wether I decide to try it.. thanks for you honest input..

Got my cradle gas cap holder yesterday. You are right. The cap fits in it and looks like it was made for these Stant locking gas caps. Went to the local Rural King farm supply and got a stainless steel replacement screw for the one holding the Gasshole on that I buggered up. Very happy with my new gas cap holder.

after seeing what you describe on national cable news i decided to forget the locking gas cap idea. the news said can't patch it and it's $1500. to replace tank, that's if you can find one. i looked under the tank and there is a plastic shield they would have to drill thru that sits about 1" down from the tank, then into the tank. seems like the gas will get all over the place unless they drill a larger hole in the shield then a smaller one in the tank.
a thick metal shield might help some but where would one get one?

I bought a gas cap holder on Amazon and it works great! It has the threads to screw the cap on too.

I’ve gotten both versions directly in store from oreilly. (The supposed knock off, and then the one w the white lettering and embossed S). Both give me a check engine light. :angrygirl:

it’s annoying but I’ll just keep clearing the code for another few weeks until I’m out of this ghetto town, for work.

I noticed that their keys are squared. When i got mine from oriley their rounded. Maybe the squared ones are the ones not giving a CEL

It keeps me from forgetting to put it back on and drive away without a cap. lol

I keep the keys in the center console...I also bought the partition underneath it as well as the glovebox partition.

I should separate them too...and do as you have...put one on my FOB key ring and leave the other in center console.
