I like St. Augustine and it was cool when you could camp on the beach up there in J-ville

 

Vilano Beach
...when only the locals went there

(I lived in Green Cove Springs briefly).

 

This is sadly true over much of our great state. I remember when Miami was a beautiful taste of old Florida and the keys were an easy and fun adventure. Now I won’t go south of Daytona! It’s horrible and heartbreaking to see.

Even Green Cove is suffering the ‘creep’ …

 

Used to be, I'd fish from the jetty and be the only one there sometimes.
You could drive north on A1A towards Ponte Vedra and see no one at all on that stretch of beach.

 

I’m writing a book on penguins. My publisher said I should probably use paper instead.

okay, that’s enough stupid jokes for the day. Taking a road-trip to go shopping at Cabelas.

So true. I remember Miami way back in my youth, back in the neon and Art Deco days. I would go back to visit that. I also remember driving to Key West on the old 7 mile bridge.

What part of FL are you in now?

 

The original Star Wars opened in the U.S. on Memorial Day weekend, 1977. I was 10 years old at the time, and remember very clearly standing in lines around the block with my mom and sister to go see it.

And speaking of Man Cards...... anyone that drinks Budweiser, or considers it to be actual beer, I seriously question his Man Card.
