13", cut in the frame in the right place and you only have to lengthen the front half of the rear shaft. Or until I put my order in for the NWF crawl box, I got a donor VF4 case already.

Currently building a LC80 9.5 for it, waiting on the diff to be built and to put it all together and weld on the leaf perch and shock mounts.

Slept in the new house yesterday finally... Took me and a buddy forever to get the furniture into this place, 100+ year old house has different dimensions for things than most furniture is built for. I still don't really know how I'm going to arrange everything, not used to having a big room or these odd beveled ceilings.

This is true, I finally have a real guest room with some space that isn't just storage for my truck parts and electronics projects.

Cheaper than a Fab'd 9" and brakes ect to match the FF and disc's this axle has now.

I'll beef it up, I got some idea's. The glass is sitting on the shelf, waiting.

Zane and Mike (and anyone else who might want be interested)

How long would it take to install the LROR clutch kit, and is the process "simple?" Do you drop the trans? (I can look all this up of course). Zane - I was wondering if there might be a couple days in the next couple months here where I could come use the shop to do this, my timing belt replacement, and a few other little things (sperical bearings, grease control arm bushings, maybe realign the front driver door).

Maybe Mike could come along to hang with us (or maybe do some work to the Redhead too). Perhaps Ben could pop over (I guess it's not that short a drive, but I can always hope) for a visit in whatever his new ride is. Would make working on it a lot nicer than doing it outside...

yes you have to drop the trans.

It's not that complicated though. Just a bit of a paint given the position you have to work.

But pretty simple, just disassemble and reassemble. Only important thing is keeping the disc lined up when torquing the PP down. And knowing how to get the top two bell housing bolts out easily and back in.

At Zanes new place. Spokane ish.

I certainly won't be ready until sometime in April, so I love hearing that you're looking for excuses. :)

You gonna come over to learn how to replace a clutch? :stirthepot:
I should say that I have an important appointment on the 18th I can't miss.

@turbodb , you going to replace the flywheel and RMS while you're in there?

Heck, if the clutch is easy, maybe we could even give the new rear axle housing a go.

I don't have a specific time in mind, just wanted to check if it was something you were open to. Let me get the last of the parts together, and then we can plan something real. Will report back in a few days.

I don't know what the RMS is, and I don't think I was going to replace the flywheel. I was just planning to do what's in the LROR Aisin/Seco kit (which is the clutch disk, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing). Happy to be told that I should do more.

Rear main seal. The big seal that keeps all your oil in the pan that goes around the crank shaft. It's behind the Fly wheel so it's an ideal time to replace it.

Rear Main Seal. I didn't touch mine but it certainly is a "while you're in there" affair. LUK flywheel is $56 on rockauto and I believe is part of why my clutch felt so much better after I did it than the transmission shop years ago.
