Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

So, limiting factor on the +4 kit is the outer heim if you’re running the slide rack. Bumped and strapped I’m able to pull 12” with the spacer removed from the shock. Couldn’t get even a little bit more.

 

They make higher misalignment spacers that allow the tie rod to drop out more. Again you’re getting into the danger zone.

I can set the 4” kit up to cycle 14” and the 2.25” kit to cycle 13” ... that’s why I have that listed on the website.

 

That would require doing a new double shear setup which I’m not interested in doing right now. CV seems to be happy where it’s at. I’ll check angle later. Worst case, I grenade something and strap it higher. But I don’t beat on my stuff like some lol.

 

Curious what the 2.25 realistically cycles when its installed conservatively not close to that danger zone

 

You had to post this when my dad's side of the family has a history of dementia/alzheimers........

 

We were getting like 11ish on mine even with the badly setup Radflo. That was bind to full shock droop.

 

12” no problem

What am I doing wrong then to only be pulling 12” with the +4? I can’t make sense of any of it. We have a laser setup, I got the alignment pretty dialed before measuring anything. 0* camber 4* caster and as of now zero toe. I keep asking what I’m missing but nobody seems to have an answer. If 12” is what it pulls I’m not mad. It’s still substantial over what I had. But while I’m here I’d love to get every bit possible.

All 3 shims are to the front as well. So with the 7/8” from the arms and the 1/4 from the pivots I’m just shy of 1.25” which is pretty much all I can do with the 37’s.

"Our kit slightly limits the up travel to prevent this from happening while increasing the dropout so you still have a full 15" of useable wheel travel. While the factory CV's can handle the increased dropout we strongly recommend up grading to our 934 CV kit for a bullet proof front end."

 

The oval sleeves can be removed and swapped out to 5/8” ones. You have the interchangeable kit, now we just do everything at 5/8”

 

If you limit the suspension 1/4” in either direction you will have 14” of travel

That’s what you said to me when I had questions during my install (far fewer questions than you I might add) and it was before you even laid hands on a kit. I’ve got news for you, there’s nothing wrong with the kit, but there’s probably something wrong with the person installing it. Don’t you own a shop? Good luck.

Have you double checked collapsed and extended dimensions of the shocks? If it has the expected full range of travel without the shocks installed then the shock or shock install is suspect.

 

He literally already said the kit will cycle 14.75” metal to metal with no shock. As I stated we internally limit the shock by 1/2” which is a little over 1” at the hub. If you want to pull the shock spacer out and get all the travel go for it... I’m just warning you to be more careful as all the way dropped out and turned is putting the CV at max capacity

 

I've spent literal hours trying to get the numbers advertised. But I guess I'm doing something wrong and it is what it is. I'm sure its a massive improvement regardless. But I was just trying to achieve the advertised travel. I'm a mechanic by trade, do lots of builds on the side from cars to jeeps. Always been heavily involved with suspension stuff, but I'm apparently lacking the intelligence for this one.

 

TW is definitely pettiest of the 4 enthusiast forums I'm a part of. Pettiest by at least a fathom. But also pretty dang entertaining.

 

14.75 with no tie rod or shock. With tie rod, shock and spacer in the shock its 12.75" metal to full shock extension.

 

Yeah TW is a dumpster fire but that's also what keeps it active. If you can wade through the BS there is a lot of good info here. I wouldn't change a thing.
