Holiday sale won't last much longer.

If you've been considering getting this grille now will be the best chance till who knows when.

Remember all my parts are 100% made and designed in the USA and not sitting on a container ship right now.

I picked mine up about a month ago. I originally went with the 2020+ OR/Sport grill, but I do believe this one is the best looking grill out there for our trucks.

Now, just waiting on the mesh so I can put my raptor lights back on.

The X-Trek is the best looking 3rd Gen Tacoma grill out there.

I have a factory OEM Pro Grill. Only thing keeping me from switching over to this is the $100 black SR5 grill trim I would need if I went this route.

Thank you, sometimes you can find a deal on one because a lot of people swap out their stock grille ones for a pro and are left with the original grille trim. Even if it's a chrome one you could always just sand it down and paint it.

Is the top of the grille floppy for anyone else? The sandwich between trim and surround doesn’t quite sandwich the grille in place on the top corners as it does on the bottom

I do realize the bottom has multiple tabs/screws that likely help this whereas the top has only 1 center screw- again for me, makes the top corners have a bit of movement/free play.

Mine had a bit of play and wiggle in the top, but I wouldn't describe it as floppy. I haven't had any issues with it. Only time I could even tell it had some wiggle was during the install.

Yes for both top and bottom. I'm going to assume you're using an aftermarket surround because that's where I think my issue is. Just cut up some double sided tape and call it a day.

With expansion and contraction of materials it's more or less breathing room.

If it does bother you try putting some double sided foam tape in-between.

Thought I’d share a year update on my grill… It’s been a year with the tss sensor mounted to the mesh behind the thick piece of the grill for protection. It’s been issue free other than when it’s covered with ice and snow. I’ve had to repaint the trim due to rock chips, but it’s held up well for spraying over scuffed chrome. I Just mounted a little r4t anytime camera As well. I’ve still yet to see another taco with this grill in person! Such a simple piece to separate a truck from the masses…

I like the subtle small TOYOTA off to the side. That's a unique touch

A great part of being on business trips- all of your parts come in while you're away.

Dont care if I got home late. Things are getting bolted on.

I'll figure out how much I screwed it up when I see it in the light tomorrow. :cookiemonster:

You won't find a better looking grille, love the combo of the mesh and badge.

I have the same except with the white Toyota Logo. I'll post a better pic soon.

Couldn't help myself, I took it back apart today. I dremeled the long bolt stems off the tricolor badge so they aren't as visible, and I rattle canned the acrylic radar cover. That one really reflects in the sun, I could see it from across the parking lot. So I decided to dull it down a little, make it blend in with the mesh. :cookiemonster:

Radar cruise worked fine this morning, I'll try it again after the paint dries. It's a sharp looking grill though. Thanks!

Edit, scratch that. The sensor did not like the paint. Kept getting a "please clean me" error.:anonymous:

Round 3. Stripping the paint killed the shield (I knew it would but I stupidly plowed ahead anyway) so I fabbed up my own shield with black acrylic, then wrapped it with 3M matte. Will let that ride for a week to see how many errors it gets this time. :bananadead:

Yeh they are sensitive, if you really need another one PM me. I've seen some guys put black vinyl over it and I don't believe it caused any issues.

Thanks for that. It's been a real experiment. Turns out it did better but will still eventually error with the 1/4" acrylic, so I have a sheet of 1mm being delivered today. If I can't get that to work I'll buy one off of you. :D
