Fox 2.0 front leveling struts

Those in the picture I posted adjust for ride height by turning the lower spring cup on the threaded shock body.

It appears the shocks you have use a clip on the lower shock body to position the lower spring cup which then determines the ride height.

Do you have any receipts that show the exact model of shock and spring installed on your truck (part numbers?)

It seems you may have front shocks/coils installed that are not made for your Tacoma.

 

It looks like he has these shocks

 

Too much preload. Ask your shop to lower the collar one step on both sides.

Wondering if they need to be used a bit to settle?? Per the directions the clip position
on your shocks are set up for a 2" lift.

 

Sub’d because this is like a good mystery movie. Hoping OP can figure it out!

 

These are what I have. They're comparable to the 5100 that are on back order.

 

This is why I'm here asking. I'm going to the shop in the morning to talk to them about it. Would hate to lift the back end just for the front to settle 1k miles from now.

 

And it will. I'd wait on doing anything until you get a couple thousand on it.

Since they re-use your OEM front springs it is difficult to believe they will settle but I drove repeatedly over speed bumps and curbs with my 6112s and new springs to get them to settle a bit quicker.

You are probably just wearing out your CV boots. The factory coils are already settled. You need to go down a notch on the clips to get down-travel back, and lower the front to a position that isn’t going to cause premature failure of your boots which were on back order from Toyota last I heard. Maybe that higher clip setting is intended for a 600lb spring. Or just keep jumping railroad tracks and hope that fixes it lol.

 

So. Went to the shop this morning let them know all concerns and they were convinced that with it squatting so much in the rear the weight distribution was extending the front end. 2 options were to drop it a notch, or keep the height and add the block to see how it felt.

I like the height so I added the block and wouldn't you know, the stiffness is gone. Still feels completely different from stock, but from everything I've been told and has been said here that seems normal.

So the shop only installed the front suspension lift originally and never did any suspension lift/changes to the back end?

 

In their defense, it is a leveling kit for front only. Supposed to be 2" but ended up being closer to 3.5 for whatever reason. So no adjustment to the back until today

 

Have you measured the hub center to fender for front and back now? What are the results?

 

Sorry front is now 24" and back is 24.5" .

24” in the front is likely leaving you with near zero down travel which is not a good thing. Your rear must have a lift to be at 24.5”. Stock is about 22”. Are you sure your measurements were accurate?

 

Very little information out there on Fox 2.0 Snap Ring lift results with OEM springs. Are you still at 3” in the front on top Ring setting?
I measured a 7/8” difference from bottom ring to middle and 1 7/8’” to the top ring. I’m leaning towards installing mine at middle setting and hoping for @ 1.5”. Anyone out there with experience to share would be helpful.
